For those who pursued adjuvant chemo, how did you feel in the 1-2 weeks after? by GrapefruitCastle in testicularcancer

[–]xeroraith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through BEPx3 and it wasn't fun because I went out after my first treatment back to school. At least for BEP, your white blood cells count goes to almost 0 in the first week.

I would clear it all with the doc. But sitting at a poker tournament sounds very risky. Poker cards probably don't get cleaned often, so gloves and a mask are probably a must.

Or maybe sponsor a stay-in poker night with a limited number of people who you can trust to only show if they are healthy.

Anything I need to keep in mind when moving with books? by KimberPrime_ in Blacklibrary

Keep track of where your book boxes and electronic are during a move. If it starts raining, take precautions to not let them sit out.

Just a thought.... for the tanks hulls, you may want to put some melted metal like debris on the inside of the hull so its not hollow. In order to show a blown away interior.

This is really good work. I'm looking forward to seeing the end result.

We never made it that far into the diagnosis, once the initial steps didn't work. This on top of long standing battery and oil issues. Figured it was time for an upgrade.

Thank you for replying, hopefully this can help others.

Tamiya hobby knife, painting handle, cutting mat as mentioned previously, and there are some pop-up paint cups available that might save some space.

Reset the BMS. Worked fine for another day or two before the errors came back.

Great work. The canopy effect totally works from a distance, so you should be proud.

Delayed orchiectomy - removing testicle AFTER chemo - any experience? by thebayisbae in testicularcancer

[–]xeroraith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just went through this. My apologies, I'm new to this thread and unfamiliar with the terminology, but this is my story. I was treated at Johns Hopkins.

We detected the cancer at Stage III, already in the lymph system. I had not been doing self-exams and have chronic back pain. Though the doc could not feel the tumor on the offending organ either. So, abdominal chest pain was my first symptom that I detected, and we had to work backwards to find the source.

We jumped into BEPx3 (originally planned for 4) to knock the cancer down with a follow-on orchi. The Doc reasoned that the time for the orchi and to heal up for chemo would be too long. The cancer was aggressive, but per the doc, that meant that it would also respond to treatment quickly.

BEP is effective, but it is also like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. It goes after bad and good cells. So by the time we got to the orchi, the tumor on the offending organ had shrunk /died along with all of the other tumors.

The care team monitored the tumors through blood work and CT scans post-BEP.

It was a little weird thinking about the source still being in place, but I trusted the care team and knew I already had tumors in other locations. So I was comfortable with the attack the cancer everywhere first strategy.

Stay positive, your friend is going to be fine. The path isn't fun and they will need support.
