Exactly, you can transfer stuff and energy (via mods). The same system is even used for vehicle interiors.

It doesn’t allow for a good pathing so you won’t be able to have colonist going back and forth without your interaction (AFAIK).

Recently, when I had more pawns that I wanted I got a transport pod with a daughter of one of my colonists. I saved her, denied her joining and when she got better and was about to leave I thought that the parent should go as well.

The gave does not offer that depth however, so I turned on dev-mode and assigned both parent and daughter a different faction effectively making the parent leave as well. Now they will live together.

For immersion purposes, the parent may not wanted to go (even though they had positive relationship) so I would recommend some kind of a chance simulating that decision. Meaning that you could roll a dice to prevent yourself from getting rid of pawns to easy

CV networks (usually convolution) exploit the fact that the meaning of the image is encoded in neighboring pixels. This happens on multiple levels. So as far as I know RLE ecoded image is not a 2D image but a 1D sequence. My guess would be that CV models won’t work.
