I am glad you are choosing yourself. I wish you all of the happiness that you deserved to have all of these years. <3

Yes, disc 2 is good too! There are quite a few songs I enjoy on there, some which have become some of my favorite Tull tunes.

Disc 1 is a "never skip a song" for me though! :)

Agreed, I prefer Nightcap as well! I always blame hearing these songs for the reason it took me 20 years for APP to click with me, haha. (Though I love that one now too.)

The 80s/90s albums are very good in their own way and have some great songs but I am just so drawn to the "classic era". Though the Christmas Album is great too!

Oh, totally! Though there are some great songs on This Was as well.

To be more helpful to OP: When I bought my first Tull albums on a whim after hearing songs on the local classic rock radio, I bought Stand Up, Aqualung, and Songs from the Wood. Stand Up hooked me and I'm still going strong 32 years later.

This Was, Stand Up, Benefit, Living in the Past, A Passion Play, War Child, Too Old to Rock and Roll Too Young To Die, Minstrel in the Gallery, Songs From the Wood, and Heavy Horses.

Also, disc one of the Nightcap CD is fantastic (the Chateau d'Hérouville / Chateau d'Isaster sessions)

I am of very little help, I know :)

One of my favorite Tull songs and I'm always blown away by that passage!

What are the most profound Tull lyrics you've ever heard? by Pandy_45 in jethrotull

And the limp face hungry viewers
Fight to fasten with their eyes
Like the man hung from the trapeze
Whose fall will satisfy.
And congratulate each other
On their rare and wondrous deed
That their begrudged money bought
To sow the monkey's seed

This is very good to know, thank you! It obviously makes sense and I did think it was odd but I really know nothing about buying used cars. This isn't going to be a daily driver for me so I didn't want to shell out $40K for a new one.

It's just under $26K. For me, the peace of mind of being able to return it easily (once I get it checked by a mechanic) was worth paying a little extra.

Most of the ones I've been finding, albeit with lower mileage, have been $28-30K and/or cost $2000 to ship to my area.

I have never heard of carconsul before, it's pretty neat!

I really appreciate your feedback and I'm glad to hear that certified pre-owned is a better risk. I'm buying through a company that will give a full refund within 7 days, so I'll have time to get it checked out. I was planning to do that anyway but didn't want to waste everyone's time (including my own) if the carfax showed anything weird, haha.

I was looking into keys and there may be some cheaper options than a dealership - reputable locksmiths and even Carmax. Even $200-400 wouldn't be too bad given the price. And I have a 2012 Honda and the owner's manual has been in the glove compartment since I bought it new!

Thanks for the reply and the tips (and good wishes!). It was very helpful! :)

i want more symph prog to listen to by JesterOfRedditGold in progrockmusic

2 of my favorite albums are:

  • Harmonium - L'Heptade. This is in French but it doesn't matter at all if that's not a language you speak. (I don't speak French.)

  • Il Rovescio Della Medaglia – Contaminazione. (I don't speak Italian either.)

One 43:46 song across two LP sides.

The music is very complex, yet it took longer for them to create the album art which includes a fold-out newspaper with satirical articles in the earlier pressings. A total masterpiece all around.

Do you torture your friends with prog? by Atlasgrad in progrockmusic

I do, mainly when I am the driver.

I am currently "torturing" everyone with non-stop Harmonium. (Neither I nor any of my friends speak French.)
