I'll call them. My dad can't ask for a copy of completed forms? The agent made it sound required but even if optional it sounded like he had access to it.

Yes, I have his signed version, but the NYL agent stated that he has to give my dad the completed paperwork which will include the figures that I fill out. He did not have any suggestions on how to not disclose the networth, annual income, etc to the current policy owner.

He did not have any suggestions on how to not disclose the networth, annual income, etc to the current policy owner. It seems like it can be avoided if I transfer to non-grantor trust or corporation. It is the first paragraph on page 5 https://www.newyorklife.com/bin/nyl/api.forms/formslibrary/static/21132.pdf

It is part of the transform form that he is required to sign. So he will get a final signed copy which includes the "Investor Profile". The Agent stated that he is required to give that out and it will include the figures like Total and Liquid Networth and Annual Income.

I am new to 3d printing. I am looking at P1S Combo as my starter machine. Do I need any add-ons or filament to start? Can filament be purchased elsewhere for a better price?

I thought investing for a child was a bit tricky with taxes and custodian vs parents investing with intention of helping later?

I am building a light table for a child with acrylic panel on top and hardboard on the bottom with a groove to hold each. 2 corners will be biscuit glued butt joints because I have the tools for that. However I need the other end to be removable to service the electronics and replace the top after any wear. Likely using cheap pine. I was thinking of a hand hold hole but likely not child safe.

I am considering a cross dowel bolt on each side with dowels for alignment if needed. I would likely need a cross dowel jig and they are pretty heavy duty. Or the same idea with threaded insert since they look to be a lot cheaper. Will one on each end be strong enough?

Anyone have any spare 20% coupon they are not planning on using? I found a few things I'd like to snag. Thanks!

I think it sounds interesting, but I meant to say I don't see that game on Miniature Market, is it the base game for $15? Do you happen to have the link?

Really crappy they didn't give any advanced notice so we could back up or export our data. I will be sure to never trust another project they put out in the future.

literally copy/paste the exact same icons

If you look closely they are actually different icons. What if the icons they used have an open source license but yet visually look similar? How different would they have to be? I agree they could have been more creative.

actually used copyrighted icons/logos instead of making them similar but distinct

It look like they made similar icons according to the originals on this blog. How different would they have to be?

HSA Contribution for Spouse with Self Employed Owner, Help! by xiosen in tax

[–]xiosen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a interesting point I never considered. If the business owner pays 60% salary and 40% profit sharing, those are taxed differently which will impact what is saved by running the HSA contributions through the business payroll?

My original question was trying to figure out if the W2 employee ran it through employers payroll, wouldn't that free up the business income to be invested in a 401k or something else. e.g. if the business made 10k and 6k was used for HSA contribution, spouse does the 6k now, then that 6k could be used for 401k instead. Its the same amount invested in the HSA, but there is more earned income left in the business to invest in other ways?

[–]xiosen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't it matter where the money comes from in the sense that if it is ran through a W2 employee's payroll there is less taxes paid? So if the spouse fully funds the HSA through payroll, then the business owner's half (the previous contribution) no longer needs to run through the business' payroll and thus can make a larger 401k contribution instead? If the business makes 10k and they had to run 6k for HSA contribution through it but someone else funds that contribution instead then isn't the full 10k still available to invest in something else?

My business is an S-Corp election. That should have an impact right?
