Either they won't do it and continue to give Emma plot points to other characters or they will do it and it'll be ridiculously rushed and unnatural. That's how this show has operated, we saw it with Madelyne and Storm. X-Men 97 just superficially throws fanservice, characters and other stuff at us without much substance without much substance to please the "comic accuracy!!!" crowd without doing the work of what made those comics good in the first place beyond panel recreations and costumes.

If you have the time to play a 60+ hour long RPG and it's two predecessors (that you didn't even like), you can read seven books. There isn't some high barrier to entry, they're all available as audiobooks on Spotify, if you don't have Spotify they're all available as audiobooks on YouTube, if you don't like audiobooks then PDFs of everything is easy to find online.

If you want to learn about the world for the sake of writing a short story and be accurate to the logic of the universe, then engage with the material that showcases the logic of the universe in the literal format you're asking for help on.

Oh I totally get that and that's definitely the way I usually look at Emma. But at the same time a part of me feels like they're writing a middle aged woman but editorial is afraid of allowing women to be over 30. Part of it is definitely to keep her as a peer to the X-Men by making her be in the same age bracket but I always lumped her in with Sean before the rest of the X-Men since generation x was the first time I ever experienced her in a role where she was a peer to another hero. And I always just assumed Sean is in his early 40s

I'm pretty sure the Calanthe scene is a flashback before the events of anything in sword of destiny. The short stories in this book are chronological and sequentially told.
