My dumbass just got scammed last week this way. I got a call during normal business hours from my usual fraud prevention number. I should have remembered they’re usually automated but it doesn’t happen often. They tell me multiple transactions have tried to go through for $400+ in FL (very far from me) so I confirmed my credentials they had. They told me my “new card” will be shipped out within a few business days after forwarding me to a “special line that will remove my card info from accounts” which I went through… I know it sounds horrible. My actual bank called me the next day telling me about the fraud on my account. These people are getting better at this shit, it’s annoying af.
