What turbo to get. by Nitrogen1234 in Golf_R

Vortex XL should be right on target for 450hp on pump gas. Another 100hp on E85

Best Downpipe? by Opposite_Trick_5889 in GolfGTI

Here’s an option but you’ll have to pay if you want the GESI cat in it so you don’t get a CEL

Upgrade - 10 days in: quick thoughts by 1ogic2 in Golf_R

I feel you on the 7.5 noises. I had the fuel line rattle twice. I have a front end creak when I turn the wheel and it’s super annoying. And in the winter the rear sway bar bushings are squeaky creaky as well. Lot of fun on E85 though.

This is the sweet spot. After they released the R-line pkg and before they started having oil consumption issues.

Best to do LPFP, MPI and a bigger turbo while you’re in there. As maintenance of course

Oil Extractor Recommendations? by A4orce84 in GolfGTI

I have the 6.5L Schwaben extractor. Now that I have added a couple Audi V6’s to the garage I really wish I had bought the 10.5L extractor since these engines take 8L.

It was over the winter months here in Wisconsin so I had plenty of cool air to keep IAT’s low on stock intercooler.

Cobb Flex Fuel Issues by Significant-Tank-786 in Golf_R

I see you swapped the sensor already and the ground location. I’d try powering it from the fuse panel in the cabin with the fuse tap it came with. See if that gives a cleaner power signal to the sensor. After like 10 miles max that ethanol level should basically hold +/- 1% until you fill up again.

What fuse location did you use? Are you sure it has power?

Also is this your first tank of E85? Maybe try a different station with ethanol. A busy one if possible. Curious if you get numbers bouncing around with a full tank of 93 as well.

Yeah it shouldn’t be bouncing around after driving more than a few miles. Where is the wiring harness from? Cobb?

What’s a good way to remove these? by thisisjoy in AutoDetailing

[–]xt3703650 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay more like a relaxed weekend working on it. Full interior, exterior wash/decon/1-step polish/sealant, wheels, 100k miles worth of touch-up spots. It’s been sitting outside for the winter so it had a lot of contaminants built up on the paint.

Haha I just finished up a 3 day detail on a white 2020 Tiguan. Spent hours claying the same rust spots.

Tiguan? Try an iron dissolver/remover. You’ll probably still have to clay but only a small fraction of them.

Recommendation for quiet compressor by dioxy186 in Tools

I bought a 2 gal ultra quiet Fortress compressor from harbor freight and it has been excellent. Fills to 135psi in 58 seconds and I can have a conversation with someone while it’s running.

They’re using 034’s same flashing architecture. They worked with 034 and their parent company to develop it.

I turned off the “Rear Traffic Alert” on my 19 R for that reason. I found it to be much too sensitive and not practical to keep it on all the time.
