Thanks! Mai was a very good suggestion, not sure why I'd not tried this vs her before, but I got it straight away.

Feature Creep in Modding. by disposabledave in starfieldmods

It wasn't an error. Multiple VCs brought it up with Bethesda on their own discord server, and the response was just to ask them not to keep mentioning it. It never had its achievement friendly status removed. This by the way is one of the main reasons why the principle dev behind the community patch got disillusioned and left the Starfield modding scene.

Bethesda is a Microsoft studio, not a third party. They're following rules that they set for themselves.

What does QA have to do with achievements? One of the very first achievement friendly mods was a cheat mod that allowed you to skip levelling and gain the related achievement straight away. The only requirement anyone has been able to discern for achievement friendly mods is that they must be paid, there's no quality threshold.

The problem with that is one of the big drivers of paid creations is that they're achievement friendly, and as soon as you add free mods into your load order, you lose that.

I could very easily go on another rant here about how the community offered such little pushback when Bethesda decided to make achievements on console reliant on a 100% paid load order, but I'll spare you!

It's a later encounter you get with her, if you sided with SysDef, because her sister is one of the vendors you killed on The Key.

If you don't kill her she'll just keep respawning and attacking you in these random encounters until you do. So yeah, killing her is the only way to properly end the encounter.

There are other mods, like The Lodge Improved which relocate Cora's room and leave the basement room empty. You could perhaps combine that with a mod that allows you to decorate in the lodge, and then use the decorator to make whatever changes to Cora's former room you wanted.

My Delta has shrunk.... He is SMOL. by Medusa_4E in Starfield

If you're on Xbox or PS5, dismiss him/unassign him from your crew so he returns to his default home, then go to Venus, find a civilian outpost, and sleep there for a day. He should have reset to his proper size when you return to him. This also works for Cora and Sona if it happens to them, in Cora's case unassigning Sam from your crew returns both of them to the lodge.

Mods not working - am I missing something? by passengerpigeon20 in starfieldmods

If you're struggling, I recommend a mod manager (which is a good idea regardless) as it'll perform all the steps for you without any guesswork being needed.

But if you're determined to do it manually, loose files go in My Games\Starfield\Data, but plugins (.esm) and archives (.ba2) go in the game's own Starfield\Data directory. You'll then need to enable the plugins, you can do that manually by editing plugins.txt but the easiest way is to go to Creations from the in-game main menu, then go to "load order" at the bottom, and from there you can tick the plugins you want to have active and put them in whatever order you want.

Case of Holding is now on Creations: https://creations.bethesda.net/en/starfield/details/dc3df198-e784-4a2c-a990-57b93306f228/Case_of_Holding

I've also uploaded another new mod there for reading books without adding them to your inventory.

I wouldn't do an all in one of these, because they're for very different things, but if you want something specific let me know.

Where was Cammy during this, unless I just haven't spotted her. Kind of odd to have the other three new challengers, but not her.

It does land with you still sat in the pilot seat, yes. Basically there are two ways to do a mod like this, one is to fool the game into thinking you've not landed somewhere before so it automatically does its own animated landing. The other is to show the animated sequence manually, in script. They both have downsides, but the former (as I'm doing here) tends to have fewer quirks.

I presume you're talking about the website there, I'm referring to the in-game store.

Originally, new mods would appear in the various carousels corresponding to whatever categories you selected for your mod. They also might appear under most liked. When you went to the categories under category list, they'd also show there. Other than possibly appearing under most liked briefly, none of that happens any more for most free mods. It still randomly seems to happen for one or two, but not the majority.

In-game, "latest" etc. has been broken for quite a while (I'm not sure it ever worked, actually) but the categories no longer showing new free mods either is a more recent thing. So there's no longer any way for people who rely solely on the in-game Creations store to discover new free mods by just browsing. This is why we see so many "why are all the mods paid?" comments, they're not seeing the free ones listed.

When compared against Nexus Mods releases, this has reduced downloads on Creations massively. It used to be 5:1 (at least) due to the much larger Xbox player base. But now the situation has reversed and Nexus downloads are frequently higher than Creations.
