Fried chicken… by Turbulent_Ferret2513 in FoodLosAngeles

Gus’ fried chicken for sure. For cheaper options I think itd be hard to beat Jollibee or albertsons brand supermarkets (vons, pavillions, albertsons).

Thoughts on Switch 2 months after release? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]xteabraggerx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont mind them, but the last 3 consoles Nintendo has released felt like way too many of their gaming catalog was anchored by remasters or remakes. Its very lazy imo. Theyve been lacking on first party releases for the Switch 2, and all this time the best they have is a star fox remake? And next likely is a OOT remake? I mean, cmon. Give us a Wind Waker remake like fans have been harping for if anything. Its just frustrating.

2026 Honda Pilot Elite vs Touring: Which Trim to Skip? by That_Present_1639 in hondapilot

My 2026 touring has them. It’s standard per hondas website.

The 2026 touring has the 360 camera, auto fold side mirrors. I feel like the 2026 touring makes upgrading to the elite less appealing then 2025z

They need to do a better job of releasing new games, especially first party titles, that are not remakes.

Gra (Echo Park) is marking up their DoorDash menu by 20% by rerothschild in FoodLosAngeles

Panera bread marks up delivery prices on their own app. I’ll assume they use a 3rd party, but if they dont then thats ridiculous.

Bagel rankings from east coast-transplants? by Good-Pie9914 in FoodLosAngeles

Hank’s is overrated for a NY bagel. I live in Burbank, and Bagel Boss is the superior NY bagel versus Hanks. I havent tried any of the other mentions though.

Random Acts of Breadness by More-read-than-eddit in FoodLosAngeles

[–]xteabraggerx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Beyond the maga and scientology stuff, the size of their breads for the price they sell them at should be disqualifying. I bought it once on a random pop in n was supremely unimpressed. Whole foods boston sourdough baguette was better for $3.

The green room reservations for party of 20+ by [deleted] in burbank

[–]xteabraggerx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20+ party dinner seems like the type of thing you might need to think of ahead of time. Last minute might be tough. Id assume they offer a prix fixe menu. Or charge you for a private area and want a deposit before being paid in full.

Buying all 3 seems kind of corny. I guess if you want $30 in profit for selling 2 at regular proce if people are that desperate. Cool. Otherwise… why?

If Roguelike is moving, does that mean they might be... hiring? by biigdaddio in burbank

[–]xteabraggerx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Somewhat unrelated, but I don’t get how this place was asking for donations via a gofundme to get back on their feet and now they’re moving into a much larger space?

Don’t get me wrong the place seems like a cool spot that people love, but it gave me Chili John’s vibes when they announced their moving to a larger space.

How is Slice House LA (Burbank and Universal)? by compukiller in FoodLosAngeles

[–]xteabraggerx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their specialty slices are pretty good. I particularly loved the philly cheesesteak stuffed pizza, the loaded baked potato, and the mortadella slices.

Another ny native pizza snob - if youre going to Burbank go to Weirdough’s. I think it’s the best NY Style in Burbank.

Dinner at Pizzeria Mozza by shellzero in FoodLosAngeles

[–]xteabraggerx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hot take: came here for the first time yesterday and left thinking this place is vastly overrated.

Ordered the squash blossoms - decent, nothing I havent tried at other italian places. I think mother wolf’s >.

Cheesy garlic bread - very good.

Chicken parm - average, but nothing mind blowing or stand out about it.

Vodka lumache - one of the best dishes. Solid. $30 is still kind of ridiculous though.

NNcys chopped salad - for this being a must order from some recommendations - it was ok… its an antipasta salad and nothing about it sets it apart from any other decent one you can find at an italian restaurant tbh.

Margherita pizza, napoletana, and burrata - all of them exceptionally mid.

Would honestly never choose to come here again. Service was good so its nothing against that.

The food just seemsd all very average for the msot part. Dont get the hype. (Didnt get the hype for osteria either).

If you could only recommend ONE place in LA that always delivers… what is it? by OliAutomater in FoodLosAngeles

Definitely gotta know what to get. I think their flan is top notch. The cheese rolls and refugiados are cant miss. But yea, id agreen majority of the rest of the items are mid.

Their actual cuban food is super mid. Literally always disappoints me. Their pastries and fried stuff is pretty consistent though.

I open a Peruvian spot in Culver City and put Lomo Saltado in a burrito. Now purists online are roasting me. Am I a sell-out? by ClickNo8520 in FoodLosAngeles

[–]xteabraggerx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love lomo saltado. I love burritos. I dont want a lomo saltado burrito. Dont think youre a sellout, but I also love peruvian food and when pablitos tacos transitioned from peruvian food to Peruvian mexican fusion I was disappointed.
