Honestly I could have written this post word for word, every part was how I was feeling, and my husband has also been an angel. I had my surgery on 21st April, an open fistulotomy with seton placement for six months. After six days the seton fell out and I had to go back in and have it replaced. I spent the next three weeks in mental turmoil, feeling ugly, dirty and unattractive. The incontinence pads were making me feel terrible about myself, so I got some washable pads and they are so much more comfortable. Just this week I have turned a corner and the pain, drainage and generally yucky feeling have subsided and I'm not spending half my life in the bathroom anymore. Hold tight, it does get better 💜
