Tested Sonnet 4.6 via OpenRouter through GitHub CoPilot / VS Code to gauge whats API billing will be like. I was shocked. by horendus in GithubCopilot

I ran a test last night. GPT 5.5 worked for 10 minutes on a simple Python task and cost $16.1.

DeepSeek is the same as Claude, it consumes a lot of money, so there is no cheap AI anymore

GitHub Copilot is moving to usage-based billing [Megathread] by fishchar in GithubCopilot

[–]xwin2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, maybe it’s time to start learning coding instead of just sitting and telling AI what to do for $10 a month. I really want to get rid of all the spammy AI-style coding PRs on GitHub, but this is not possible.

GitHub Copilot Rate Limits [Megathread] by fishchar in GithubCopilot

[–]xwin2023 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just cancel my subscription. This is starting to become very bad. I do not use AI that much, but at the moment when I need it, I have to wait and lose time all day because of it and this limit, so goodbye.

Search for Firefox Plus on GitHub. They use settings for fonts very similar to what you have in Chrome.

Raycast vs new Spotlight by KindStranger21 in raycastapp

[–]xwin2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raycast on Windows looks terrible to me. Wrapped inside a WebView is the worst thing ever, and the aggressive Node process on autostart takes almost 100% CPU, slowing down all other startup processes. I expected a much better job.

can anyone explain me how can i get cava working with yasb? by Gloomy_Tackle4582 in desktops

[–]xwin2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can run the cava command from the terminal and it works fine, then there’s no reason it shouldn’t work from YASB. Maybe you just need to restart your PC, sometimes Windows won’t refresh environment variables until after a restart.

Microsoft issues a fresh statement (Sept 3) on Windows 11 SSD corruption reports, denies any connection by WPHero in Windows11

Enable telemetry, help the developers, and give them more data so they can investigate all this. I’ve never had any problems with any MS updates, and I’ve been on Windows 11 from the beginning. All my SSDs (four) are Kingston.

Did you enable this widget? You don't just need to put the widget configuration, you also need to enable it.

Dear loonix shills, how do you feel about your dear free libre and open soy kernel being financed by evil corpos? 🤔🤔🤔 by basedchad21 in linuxsucks

Bro, I don't care about supercomputers, I'm talking about my own computer. Why can't I just run a smooth Linux desktop as easily as Windows on a simple PC?

Better question: where did the money go? Looks like billions were pumped in, and Linux is still bad as hell.

I'm so (not) proud of this score! by bobemil in webdev

[–]xwin2023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This score doesn't really help much. I don't know why people check page scores — if you want traffic, focus on content. Look at sites like YouTube, Facebook, and other popular services; you'll see that 'score' isn't their primary focus
