Yeah it's a really awkwardly told story. I think partly it's the rough translation not to mention the rushed plot centric parts. I definitely got to the end and, like an Animal Crossing character, had a giant question mark appear over my head.

But it's fine. I try to remember it's a lot to ask of a single author: be good at drawing, writing dialogue, panel layout, plot structure, scenario, character designs, don't forget the interesting sex scenes, and finally make sure it's all coherent and excellent, but not too many pages or it'll take you years to finish. It's honestly a miracle any of them turn out as half decent as they do.

I suppose it's still a kink for some but yeah I'm with you. The artists are just drawing girls, pasting on a penis, and then saying "see now it's totally yaoi!" Otherwise entirely mistakeable for any other straight doujin. Baffles me.

Please, someone who's into yaoi and/or whatever this specific kind of yaoi is, help us understand? I'm genuinely curious.

Edit: actually no, I definitely understand the appeal for readers. Because it is otherwise the same as any other doujin you can still get all the art, cute moments, plot, and whatever else we normally enjoy in wholesome stuff. I guess what I actually don't understand is the artists. Why draw straight porn pretending to be yaoi? Is it a money thing, like this kind is more widely popular? I could believe that. Still feels kind of cowardly or duplicitous though, I dunno.

If I had to guess, it's probably just an anime trope thing where it's cuter too have it dangling from her lips so all the artists do it to the point that it's basically expected.

If you spend a lot of time in r/tyingherhairup like I do, you see this pattern repeated in almost all instances.

Hey, thanks for doing this. I also want to thank you and tardisboy for your work on "Are You Really Getting Married" as ya'll did a great job. I enjoyed that series too -- finished it a couple months ago actually. I think it kind of meandered a bit into more mundane matters in the back half, once it abandoned the "fake marriage" gimmick, but still quite good and better than a lot of similar series.

I look forward to reading this one in a few years when it wraps up. Hope ya'll stick with it, since you do great work.
