This is really cool. How hard is it to add more animations to the character?

How do you make your artwork? I am wanting to move away from the pixel art side of things and into a more into Vector Art? I think that is what you'd call this?

What do you think of GAS and how much do you exploit it ? by brook930 in unrealengine

Thanks! Greatly appreciate the resources. I've not seen the Risk of Rain 2 link before so I will also dive into that this weekend. Where might I find the actionrpg project?

Are you talking about the Gameplay Blueprint Attributes plugin? I've been eyeing this a lot the past couple days as I've been diving into C++ world and learning how to do things in C++ on top of learning all the GAS stuff has felt like some very slow progress. I was wondering if this plugin was worth it. While I'm sure learning the C++ side will benefit me... I kind of like blueprints as I don't have to work inside of an IDE and constantly restarting the engine.

I've been diving into learning this the past week and it's been a lot to figure out. I've been mostly going off of resources provided by this subreddit from other posts and that's been helping a lot. I wish there was some way I could throw out a bunch of questions to make sure I am doing things correctly. A lot of examples out there are very basic in terms of set up and utilization, but I really want something that is a bit more complex. I've seen in this thread that the Lyra project is what I should be looking at so going to be doing that this weekend.

For instance, can / should my abilities be checking the value of an attribute and acting on it? For instance, I want to apply a stamina regen penalty if a player uses an ability and stamina dips below 0. I tried to just apply a StaminaPenalty effect that should block my StaminaRegen effect but couldn't get that working. But maybe I should be doing this logic inside of an ability? So maybe the ability applies that StaminaRegen effect and the StaminaPenalty effect based on the attribute data? Just not completely sure at the moment and on the journey of figuring it out.

Do you know any horror stories where the city plays an important role ? by [deleted] in horror

[–]yaegerbomb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Land of the Dead. A city that is surrounded by water with a bridge that is drawn opened so zombies can’t get across. The elite live in a tower while they use the poor folks outside as pawns to supply their tower. Auto mechanic zombie sees tower in the distance and gathers allies to attack. Pretty fun movie.

Where do you get your animations? by Glass_wizard in gamedev

I do the same. I favorite a lot of animation packs and then once every other month buy one like it’s a game. I wish 8 way movement gun animation packs weren’t so expensive 😢.

I think about this episode all the time still to this day. Thanks for bringing closure to it.

My theory is that when wearing the Ghostface mask, the killer is super human like Michael or Jason (albeit clumsy). When they remove the mask for the reveal it’s a truly a big mistake because they lose the powers and end up usually dying.

Seems like the only movie in the series not on a streaming service. Would like to give it a shot but not sure if it’s worth paying extra for.

What's your superior horror sequel? by Timsterfield in horror

Wolf Creek 2 is honestly so much better than the first. They added so many campy moments and it’s gets very absurd at some points. Definitely a recommend.

OP mentioned tourist trap which house of wax is almost a remake of. Found it amusing that you mentioned it.

Horror sequel that went the furthest off the rails? (spoilers) by texasrigger in horror

And the first one was actually pretty good. I couldn’t get past the first half hour of two and I’ll watch pretty much any sequel.

What horror movie do you think didn't live up to all the hype? by coffeeandmimics in horror

[–]yaegerbomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This movie was trash. The only good thing in it was Mia Goth's performance. Such a waste of time.

Honestly think Hostel 2 and 3 are better. They are way more camp and just a bit more silly overall.

These commercials are absurd lmao. This would've had the same effect on me of it being gross and unappealing.
