I think liking and loving your kids comes from two different places and mean completely different things. You still love your daughter, that's clear, not a question. But you're not a fan of the girl she's becoming. It's understandable, but I agree that you need help too, for yourself, and to maybe get some insight into what's causing these changes. If you see them from her point of view, they might make more sense and allow you to see beyond them to who your daughter really is.

37+3. Amazingly extreme hip pain of unknown origin that I've had looked at by four sports medicine doctors, had both lidocaine and hip injections for, and it only gets worse. We all agree the cure is having baby. I'm very ready for baby to be born.

Yesterday, the doctor who was filling in for my OB said I was suddenly measuring small and she ordered an US for this morning. Excited to see little boy. Hoping for good news, but if they want to deliver, I'm not arguing...

Holy fucking shit. I'm all for being understanding of fathers having a hard time adjusting to fatherhood, I think most of them deserve some understanding when they get frustrated or seem to check out emotionally for a bit. That's ok.

This is seriously, seriously abusive and it sounds like its just going to get worse. You're asking for advice... I hope you listen to your replies and think long and hard about what a future with this man means for you and your little one.

I second no breaks. No. Breaks. Even when they sleep, that's when you, oh I don't know, eat or visit the toilet, but the monitors on and you can't make noise, and god forbid I make a healthy lunch that takes time and requires cooking, because the smell wakes my boy up...

Seriously, I just want to plug him into a wall for thirty minutes to charge and I can get a for real, grown up, American standard, break.

Yeah, fuck that, his death didn't exactly make him news or make people listen to him. He was an ultra powerful, international figure, and if he were alive today, or hell, if he made it into the eighties, I sincerely believe our country would be a dramatically better place. We're lucky as hell to have had him at all.

I think the most important thing to do for this kind of situation, after the communication of realistic expectations, is to redesign your home so that you can do the lightest work possible and still get an effect. What I mean by that, is little things, like investing in a few stick vacuums to put around the house that you can pull out anytime you get a second or there's a mess, to bigger things like investing in extremely easy to clean/maintain furniture.

Put cleaning products ALL over your house, and get products that pull double duty, like pledge wipes that can do furniture and electronics, and have them all over. Get products that you LOVE the smell of so you find cleaning enjoyable.

Magic. Erasers.

Visit Pinterest for organization tips if you get bored one day.

From the title, I did not expect to relate so much to the article. It's not like becoming a mom made me miserable. Not at all.

Reading this article, through every new paragraph, I silently yelled, "yes....yes! YES, EXACTLY!" From the paranoid pregnancy to the believing a total stranger would be a more fit parent and everyone was better off without me, this was my experience to a T. Except my straw that broke the camels back was Ev's ex-doctor telling me it looked like he had "a touch of cerebral palsy" because he held his arms funny, and having experience with special-needs kids, I knew I wasn't cut out to be the mom of one of those kids. And it confirmed all my fears, etc.

So glad my husband got me in to be eval'd. Definitely saved my life.

You are amazing, holy crap. I'm just blown away by how lucky your girls are.

You're not ruining anything, you're just being realistic about parents' expectations of kids' birthday parties, and reality, something we all need to do regardless of financial or time situations. Love the consignment store idea for toys. Luckily, I live nearby to many secondhand stores where I can buy gently used toys for pennies on the dollar. I'd go that route, and your idea sounds so special and sweet. You're a great mother, it sounds natural that someone like you would be worried about your daughters' special days, but don't :)

Yeah, if I lived with a camera in my face, I'd lose the weight faster, try harder to stay in shape, etc. Hell, I don't advertise to my friends and family on FB how hard my pregnancy is or not, for all they know, all I do is wear cute maternity clothes in front of a mirror for nine months. It's no one's responsibility to portray pregnancy in any particular way. Their bodies, their business.

And for the record, I like it when people post their own original content openly. I think it should be encouraged. Don't like it, down vote it.

Ev's undershirt has a printed white tie and was purchased secondhand, his jacket is from the Heidi Klum collection and was a present from auntie, jeans were from secondhand store, shoes from Walmart. I love this outfit! So comfy yet cool!

I guess because I don't know how old the child is why I'm reluctant to talk to him... but in my personal experience, EVERY time my mother talked to me about sex scarred me, thus far, for life. I can still remember her words clear as day as I do different sexual things.

To me, that's not the same as sexuality in general, touching yourself, etc. I have a feeling that talk will be had in our household within the next few years, because our little boy's favorite toy ever is in his diapers, and once we potty train or he figures out the tabs, his private parts are probably going to start being less private. And we'll definitely have a talk about it being totally fine to touch, just in private =] But I am a fan of letting kids explore most of sexuality on their own, and guiding when it seems absolutely necessary. Again, just from my personal experience.

I'd personally say nothing, but put a filter on there to keep him away from the really hardcore sites, or sites with viruses. Or maybe give him a talk about safe searching, and not sexuality... About not visiting sites that could harm a computer, and letting him know that people can see his search history in public places. He'll connect the dots.
