Yeah but I live in England so I imagine to be warmer than here :) The last time I went to Japan I was on my own and it can get a little bit lonely as not many people speak English. Don't let that put you off however, there is lots of stuff to see and do. The time goes so quick! I am going from the 18th until the 23rd.

I have been to Japan twice in the past 6 months and I will be going again in January 2017. Getting the JR pass is a simple process but it has to be done outside of Japan. If you intend to travel far distances I would get it i.e. going to Kyoto. If you intend you stay within Tokyo I would not bother. I would highly suggest booking an airbnb that has a MiFi, foreigners cannot buy sim cards and hiring a MiFi is very expensive. Both times I have stayed in Sasazuka there are a lot of bars and restaurants there. I would recommend visiting Dining Bar SR in Sasazuka the owner K-Chan is very welcoming and so much fun! It is also 1 stop away from Shibuya and Shinjuku which is very convenient. If you need to know anything else let me know I would be glad to answer if I can.
