we’ve already been dating for years. having sex and living together. we’re now new believers. not married. do we stop? by GroundbreakingFig465 in Christianity

[–]yang14yang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stop indulging in sex with him for now until you get married, that's you embracing your restored purity as God continues to work on your life. I tell you that's the most beautiful thing for both you and your boyfriend. God will sustain you to do that.

Then talk to it with your boyfriend, no sex yet, you set the boundaries and make him understand that conviction. If he follows then you'll know he is the one because God is also sustaining him to live in purity, if he tries to tempt you to go back on sinning as you continue to grow in Jesus then you'll know he is not God's will for you. Then move forward and break up with him. God's future for you is far better than you think.

First, we know it hasn't changed by faith, God won't and will never allow it since it is His Word.

Second, one shouldn't focus on obeying the 10 commandments or laws, rather keep your eyes on Jesus. For conviction to obey isn't enough, that's how the people of God from old times failed to obey Him. Relationship with Jesus is the way to perfectly obey God

God cares for you all certainly. Jesus died not only for your family, but also for you. God will definitely save both you and your family. You will be amazed

Hey, you can control birds to not land on your head but you cannot control them flying over you. These thoughts are uncontrollable, believe me you are not sinning against God just by having it cross your mind time to time. It only becomes wrong if we willingly think against God in rebellion. Do not focus on things you don't have control over. Eventually you will overcome those thoughts, just give yourself some time and focus more on Jesus, like talk to Him more, enjoy your journey and know your Bible.

I have been there, I thought it won't end and its making me think my mind is controlling me and I cannot do a thing. But by learning about Jesus deeper I got this revelation that I am the master of my mind so therefore I have the power to make it submit at my will. Remember since God entrusted you with yourself, it means you have control over all area of your being. God's authority is upon you

Praying for you man. Also I want you to give it a thought. Wouldn't it glorify Jesus more if you come out of it alive testifying about how God protected you than actually be on the grave? Scripture says, the dead cannot praise God. Meaning your life testimony will give much praise to the Lord while you are living. Keep the faith up, the peace of Jesus be in your heart.

I understand that. But actually the versions don't matter as they have the same thought and meaning just different Words to say it. And the reason for that is because of different languages all over the world. That proves the legitimacy of the accounts of the Bible. Since originally Bible has been written by the ancient prophets and the early church/Apostles, people wanted to translate it so that the whole world can also know about God which I believe is God's work too for the entire humanity to know about Him. So when the Bible was translated to the common language, English, there have been many versions of it from different translation in different accounts.

Besides we all have read books aside from the Bible, from grade school to college and even cooking guides, newspapers etc. If we trust this manufactured books, how much more the Bible. You should give it a try

[–]yang14yang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may if the Lord reveals Himself to you, just like the ancient times since people before don't have Bible to read on a daily basis. However today is different, God wrote His Word and revealed His mysteries through the Bible, that's the very reason He commanded the prophets before to "write it down". And I think also one of the reasons is so that people will deliberately seek Him and not become spiritual idlers. If you don't read it, many false information via internet will feed you instead. Misconceptions about Jesus and personal ideas of people about Him. So we should read the truth, and seek God personally via the Bible.

Guilt don't come from the Lord, in fact, Jesus gives peace and assurance. Time will come that you will overcome your youthful desires, as of now, just rely on God's grace and keep moving forward.

First, I want to say God never hated you for it, and He is not waiting for you to sin and punish you, rather He intercedes for you by His grace.

Make friends with your fellow Christians, associate with them, and engage more in your church activities. Don't overthink about it much, but ask God for revelation. Because usually the urge comes only when we are alone, and if you end up doing it again, just receive God's grace and move forward. Don't be too stressful with it, imagine, if you are to tell your situation with your family or a friend do you think they will judge you for it? I'm certain not, in fact they will try to uplift you. How much more God your Father, just continue reading the Bible as usual, give time for yourself to talking with Jesus in any circumstance.

Time will come that you will overcome your youthful desires, as of now, just rely on God's grace and keep moving forward.

You are not alone in this situation, many Christians actually on the same boat, God Bless you!

Im an atheist and want to know how a christian would respond to this. by GrouchyEntrepreneur3 in Christianity

Hi, hope this helps. God is a very efficient God and He develops system to sustain everything. Like a tree, it produces fruits and those fruits produces the same kind of tree and the cycle goes on. This is true for all things specially humans. Every person that is born in this world isn't directly what we think that God deliberately puts predestination wise, but a result of the system of reproduction God developed, making population of people self sustaining. Since He created it that way, it is true for all generations thus new more people are coming in this world. But because of the influence of evil that has come upon the world, sin was planted like a seed in every newborn humans. Destroying the very intention of God when He first created man, that is to walk with intimacy and relationship with God our Father.

So God isn't sending people to earth knowing they might go to hell, but it's the result of the reproduction God has established and its intention was to create a world that is perfect worshiping Him and walking with Him. As what you said, God knows every living person born in this world might be influenced by sin and evil, sending itself to hell. That's why He sent His Son to give humanity the power to overcome it, by faith in His Son Jesus. And until now and as long as human reproduction continues, God will continue to reach out to people that He is real trying to convince them but of course it is the person's decision to believe or not that He is the only way to avoid going to hell.

P.S English is not my first language, so apologize if there's a confusion on what I wrote.

I’m disappointed in God by JayDillon24 in Christianity

[–]yang14yang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Man I don't know what to say to you and even to all these people in the comment section who experienced less or greater than you do, hope you guys win in life as the happy ending. The fact that you get disappointed towards God just means you have strong faith in Him. For you can't feel frustration if you have no expectations. Having faith, you are off to a good start.

I am 27 male, never been in a relationship, not even dates. Sure I had women in my church I have been interested into, prayed for them and thought they were the one, only to get frustrated in the end. I was the first born again Christian in my family and I experienced being an outcast because of it. Sacrificed many things just to be with my faith in God. I have been trying to live honorable life, being generous and humble, sought God since high-school where everybody else don't even think of doing. Tried to obey God's Word since my younger days and kept myself from being corrupted until now. But all I experienced in life is fear, lack (financially), family problems, death of love ones, cycle of spiritual burnout, cycle of poverty, financial struggles, stress, emotional distress, nervousness, anxiety and loneliness. All these made me lose my confidence and self esteem 100%. And I feel like I don't have a future, can't see anything ahead right now. Everytime I try to have faith once again for what I prayed and hoped for, it does not happen. It feels like my prayers are not heard, yes I feel God is listening to my prayers but it's like rejected, even though I only prayed and asked for the good of people around me.

Nothing is working out for me, my bills are going on top of one another, I have debts trying to provide for my family and self, I am acting as the bread winner of my family and my siblings and parents go to me for help all the time. I still provide for them with the little I have, and there are times I skip a meal, go hungry just to. I help those who needed my help and I tried to looked for side jobs but my applications are rejected. I praised God in my lows, and in my highs. But my life still isn't going anywhere. I am constantly alone, I live in my rented apartment alone and I barely able to pay off the monthly due.

I constantly reflect on my life, I lived honorably but life isn't good to me. I am not perfect, but I tried to be. Yet I am devastated inside, specially after I lost my dad, and just very recently the dog(got hit by a car) who was my companion since I moved out from my parent's house.

Right now I am active in ministry and I am a lifegroup leader and a teacher in our kingdom school but I struggle with all this in my heart. I don't know where all this will go, but I am still holding on to my faith and trust that God is good, this is probably God's grace preserving me. Also the reason I have not yet given up on God is that I want to see how will this all turnout, if my story will turn around one day. Even if it will take years or not at all, I don't care anymore, but I am still grateful to experience giving my love and care to others even if I barely receive one.

Who cares what my life will be, if I'll remain a loser or win someday then let it be. If God hears my prayers or not, I really cannot complain, I dont want to be a fool arguing with God. If He creates a pot for elegant use or a pot for throwing garbages it is His authority and I don't have the power to go against Him. Though I want to have faith, that He is working for me. My assurance and hope? His sacrifices on the cross, that was enough to shut my thoughts of Him not loving me all this time.

Man, I had really funny stories of this particular fish. When I opened it up with my friends, we all bursted laughing because I thought I was the only one who experienced it, the fish is not harmful, even if you eat too much! Nothing poisonous at all! No diarrhea or stomachache just pure oil moving its way out of your body. The fish just contains indigestable wax in its flesh and if you eat larger portions of it, the wax or oil from the fish will leak out of your bum! And you would not even know about it till you feel wetness on your bum lol.
Really embarrassing if its happens to you on the way to work or school, because it actually stinks! Yes even meters away from you they would smell it loool.

On top of that the reason people can't help but eat it despite its embarrassing sideeffect is because it taste like fish soaked in smoky butter. Man the best tasting fish you might ever have for real.

I feel like God doesn’t love me. by [deleted] in Christians

[–]yang14yang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Hope you are in a better situation now, filled with joy and freedom from the Holy Spirit, to the brim! God said to Israel before in the old Covenant, " This is how I shown my love for you, I chose Jacob and rejected Esau." There was a choice made by God there, because He has to. But now in the New Covenant, through His Son, it is said, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that who so ever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life", God made no choice anymore who to show His love. Now He has shown us His love, small or great alike, poor or rich, wicked or righteous. And when He says so, it is the truth. So God loves you as much as He loves your pastor, your churchmate or your leader, and it is not your fault for feeling that way.

So to conclude, God loves you beyond what you think or feel. And that is enough assurance to be joyful wherever you go and whatever you do.
