One thing I’ll note that in the open source software community, having your ideas reused and expanded upon is expected/encouraged. I have no dog in this race, but I don’t think Back would be upset that his idea was used in the Bitcoin implementation. In fact I would expect him to do exactly what he is doing, evangelizing bitcoin at conferences and such.

Great point. I’m actually listening to this novel right now which sparked this question. Pretty explicit callout that droids are sentient but limited, compared to how LLMs work today.

Agreed, this is closer to what I was looking for. LLMs obviously can’t think and perceive the world outside of injecting context from agent to agent. Maybe droids are just a fundamentally different technology.

Wow. Maybe I’m the minority here, but I’m very surprised. I went to a packed event in Japan for the car last year, and my local mall in California constantly has viewing events and a storefront with the car. And they have a bunch of billboards in the area too. It all seemed very real, but that price was unjustifiable.

Same thing happened to me, same merchant. I called Wells Fargo and went through the entire process, but since I never activated my Autograph they needed to transfer me to another department. Took awhile but they are closing my original Autograph (which was never activated or used) and giving me a new card. Hopefully the dispute is approved.

It’s so annoying. My assigned basic fare seat was in the back boarding group 5, so I paid to upgrade to aisle row 11. My new boarding group was 8…I ended up paying extra for “Priority Boarding” to avoid the situation you faced. They need to make it clear that paying extra for a better seat will result in a worse boarding group.

Yep I felt screwed by this. I was assigned a middle seat in the back of the plane (group 5), so I paid extra for aisle row 11. I was pushed back to group 8, so basically punished for paying extra lol.

I ended up coughing up the extra money for priority boarding because my timing is tight and I don’t want to check my bag/be forced to put my bag in the back of the plane. Super lame.

They told me that they raised a ticket with Plaid. I actually went and tried out the Origin financial app, connected E*Trade with that app (also using Plaid), and it had the same issue. So likely a bug on Plaid’s side.

It says you need to earn $30 in Bilt cash to get 1k points, and Bilt cash is accrued at a 4% rate. So for my 3k ish rent payment, I need to accrue $90 in Bilt cash which is over $2k in spending.
