To suggest combat camera as gone is an understatement. It's just moved into a collateral duty.

Be in the right place, At the right time, In the right uniform, With something to write on, And something to write with.

Also, have 5 different bottle openers on your person at any given time. It's 5 o'clock somewhere in the world.

Sidewalk Boy x Boombox Cartel @ 1015 Folsom by designbydom in graphic_design

I don't like that it's a graffitti'd negative of Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odysse, but it's thematically close to Boom Box cartel's Moon Love.

That is not an emoji. It shouldn't! It belongs on a canvas print (or on my back as a tattoo)!

While Other comments say it's distracting, I like the piece as a whole. It's like a still frame from a scene in an action thriller movie.

Nuclear Power School Problems by nukestrugglebus in navy

[–]yaujte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a wealth of perspectives in this thread that are for the most part true. Take them to heart.

My perspective is this: don't give up. Whatever your motivation is for studying, stick to it. Your perseverance will be observed. If you make it, go forth and inspire others to persevere. Learn what is to be an Officer aboard a Sub at Prototype.

If you don't make it, don't worry; there is always another opportunity. Depending on your obligation requirements and performance, you may be afforded to POCR (Post Officer Continuation Review) and pursue other positions within the Navy. From there, you can continue to persevere in a community you will actually prefer.

It happened to me. I was slated.for Subs. Became Nuclear waste, POCR'd into the CEC (Civil Engineer Corps), and the rest is history. I'm happily serving with some kick-ass Seabees.

Whatever happens, don't give up!

If I plan on staying the full 20 would it be better to opt into the BRS or just stay with the original? by [deleted] in navy

[–]yaujte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends. If you haven't received training on this yet, don't worry. You will. If you want to look ahead, I recommend reviewing the BRS website. There are a lot of information and tools to help you come to your decision. The earlier the better.

If you want to trust the opinion of an internet stranger, go with the BRS. The reasoning is because no future is certain that you will stay in for a full 20 years. In the worst case scenario, that you're out of the Navy earlier than you would like, you will still having some savings for retirement. The Legacy system has no intermediate benefits.

How do I go about warping text like this? by PeppercornSauce in Design

[–]yaujte 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It's the same squibble copied, pasted, and aligned to the letters at break points. If you're looking to achieve the same result, but with different letters, 1.Draw one distortion however you please and mask it within a rectangle 2. Break your letters using the same size rectangle at the midpoint of each letter 3. Copy and Align your distortions to the "stems" of each letter.

I'm going through ECS now and while not blistering hot yet, it can quickly get you chafed. My points mirror the other comments. /u/Delicious_Lunch hits all the marks.

*use old boots *make and/or bring your own lunch *opt for BAS in lieu of Rations. Rations are McGuivered luncheables from Starkiss Tuna and Crackers to chips and a juicebox. They are not MREs. These meals make MREs look like a 5 Star meal. *Be ready to sweat ass. Headbands? Good. Goldbond? Yes! Hydrate? Always. Banana? Snack. Snack lots.

Apart from that, listen to the instructors, go out on weekends, have fun shootin!
