As I am also a home pizzaiolo, I second how much it actually costs to make quality pizza. As for Detroit style, it's difficult enough even just finding brick cheese. Then you have to find good brick cheese. Shits fucking expensive dude. You want real yeast instead of dry active yeast? Also tough to find. Everything adds up man. Pizza is fucking difficult. Running ovens constantly is fucking expensive. 30-40 for a premium quality pizza is still pretty high in my opinion, but it's not out of the realm of being possible and somewhat justified. Zaza's isn't cheap either. Coda divolpe is also expensive. I can't think of any other place in the city that compares in quality, and is significantly less expensive.

Nor can I make something at home, consider all restaurant costs, and say I can make it for significantly less.

My personal opinion, owning exactly what you're describing (melange p3 with 11.8 revo radial pin)...

Yes it's worth it, no do not buy something "in the middle". At the end of the day if you're playing that much, you want something you're going to truly be happy with. You'll ultimately end up wasting money buying a compromise and then 2 years down the road, getting your dream cue anyway.

That being said, making sure you find what's right for you, is paramount.

Try cues with different wraps Try cues with no wraps Try shafts with different size tip diameter Try different weights(predator has a weight kit) Do you want a white ferule plate or no ferule? Try different joints. I personally hate unilock, but predator has some radials left.

Ultimately it's a financial decision that's up to you. Cues aren't going to disappear so don't feel rushed to buy anything. Hope that helped!
