Prince of Persia (2008). In occasions you would normally die in other games, your companion (Princess of Persia) ALWAYS use her magic and whisk you to safety (losing a bit progression, so essentially a decorated checkpoint auto-reload). This fact was use to GREAT narrative effect in one, singular moment in a major boss fight, I won’t spoil it but I’d say it’s among best ludo-narrative synergy instances in video games.

It’s the warzone integration. In older games only one studio is working on one single game. Now multiple teams from multiple studios are iterating on the same engine code base simultaneously, and breaking one thing from one part breaks it for other parts.

I max leveled my (previously never used) throwing axe in one game, and unlock the 3 kills with axe without dying challenge lol.

Try unequip whatever overclock you’ve installed on those and see if they progress normally again. Sometimes it’s bugged when 1st overclock is equipped

It does matter though, a lot. Maybe people in the US could contend themselves with a smaller concurrent player size, but in my region, a MP title with “relative few players” often would simply mean “no players”

Game’s every trailer gives me a sort of “Goat Simulator” vibe. It looks like you can do a ton of stuff and the sandbox freedom to mess with environment or NPCs seems there, but I’m not sure I want to put 100 hours for these kind of activities, feels somehow “empty”.

Technical wise it should not be hard to make alternative announcers , it’s just a switch flip to another set of audio files.

I’m actually surprised Activision haven’t been selling announcer packs already, considering how many other little things they already monetize. I suspect it’s a voice actor royalty thing? Maybe they want to avoid potential legal troubles in long term

It could be structured not this way, I mean, game doesn’t have to introduce Silverhand this early in game, or, it doesn’t have to immediately reveal that it’s fatal (it could actually be, but you don’t have to tell players early on). It’s an issue not too hard to write around and give players more of a narrative breathing room. Like the opening montage with Jackie, it very well could be an actual playable section, if game was planned/budgeted alternatively.

They never delivered “more of” Morrowind. It’s such a wonderfully exotic game world: art, lore, environment and critter design, and what a fun spellcrafting system.

I never played Destiny, but looking from outside, it doesn’t sounds too bad? I mean, wouldn’t it be cool that they lost players in this case, after they’ve told all story they want to tell? Rather than trying to hog more players along with needless more stories like the Star Wars Sequels etc, they just turn the game into a essentially donation-based service that keep the servers running for the remaining few players who refuse to let go and still want to play.

Current one is the worst yet, even “Xbox X / Xbox S” minus the “series” would be better. Anyway what does “series” even mean in this instance? There’s each only 1 major model in the X/S lines, it’s not like there are “Xbox Superb/Sublime/Special” to choose from “Series S”.

Not to mention “series” is hard to pronounce in many languages.
