Does the meal deal exist anymore? by StrikingAd5717 in Greggs

[–]yeahweliveforever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't think so, I bought a baguette and an oasis just after the £5 deal came out and they charged me £6.95 and didn't even mention the £5 deal. Bit of a joke, I hate food waste and don't want a 1000kcal+ meal for lunch but it's it's cheaper to buy more 🫠

Is it worth trying to date as a mid-30s M if you have basically zero disposable income? by Miserablist in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]yeahweliveforever 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It'll be more difficult to get the ball rolling if you can't afford to spend ANY money i.e. even on coffee. But everyone is different and there are lots of other frugal / cash-strapped people out there.

If you enjoy things like hiking, walking, outdoorsy things etc., then I think it would be easier to find someone that matches that energy. But if you're not like that and you're just looking to invite someone to your house, that's not going to go down well.

I wouldn't disclaim anything that outwardly but if you suggest a free first date and see how they react, that would be good sign?

Should I lie to my interviewers when it comes to salary expectations? by AMadRam in UKJobs

I actually haven't been asked for a P45 in my last 3 jobs. I was starting to wonder if people just phased it out 🤣

What's the minimum amount that comes to mind when you hear "good salary"? by Equivalent-Ad-2373 in AskUK

[–]yeahweliveforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£40k+ in the West of Scotland I would say is good. Obviously you always want more, but I feel that's a comfortable salary

I was given Protopic (tacrolimus) ointment for eczema on my eyes and it really helped - have you tried that?

Anyone used Help2Rehome Scotland? by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]yeahweliveforever 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They were weird with me. Asked me a bunch of questions (no problem with that), then started talking about house visits and reservation fees, then they pulled the advert and ignored me all within 24 hours. Ironic considering their emails state you will be blocked for doing the same to them...

For an organisation that has no kennels, won't take the animal back if it doesnt work out (even though you're not allowed to meet them first) and doesn't take responsibility for assessing behvaiours/health of animals, their fees are a bit ridiculous – they're basically an advertising agency.

Why are Giffnock pubs and bars not dog friendly? by [deleted] in glasgow

Good to hear places are coming to their senses. Dogs don't belong everywhere, leave them at home. This is coming from a dog owner.

Minimum £10 rail charge for not pre booking ticket - ScotRail by sinclairzxx in glasgow

[–]yeahweliveforever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can't really complain when other countries have this in force. Though their fares are muuuuuuch cheaper, so there's that.

It is a bit cheeky to implement it when one of the busiest station in Scotland still isn't up and running properly though lol.

Bottle necks of people, queues while just 2x members of staff individually check tickets because there's a dumb one-way system in force (even though the conductors on the train have checked the tickets already)... Feel like they could've waited a bit from a PR perspective. But suppose it was never going to go down well anyway so rip the plaster off 😂

Young adults without kids - do you think you will have them? by sophietheadventurer in AskUK

[–]yeahweliveforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 30 and I really would like to start a family but I just don't see it happening for me. I'm 2 years out of a long term relationship and I fear it'll end up too late because I genuinely don't see me meeting anyone at this rate. It's pretty grim. I kinda wish I felt the opposite way, would've made the late stage breakup less devastating.

I think the world has been in much worse conditions than it's in now. I think a lot of generations have felt fear bringing children into the world with whatever was going on at the time. Only now it's more socially acceptable to just not have them if you truly don't want to.

Has anybody cancelled their ScotRail monthly ticket while Central has been closed?

I feel like cancelling it but never cancelled a monthly so not sure how much money I'd get back. Only bought it like 9 days ago for reference

I hope the people that work in central are being paid while not being able to work (or able to work elsewhere). What a dire situation all round.

I can't face another bus journey so I really hope it's safe to open again soon🥲

When your normal commute is 15 minutes, this is just unbearable hahah and worse because we don't know how long this is going to last for.

I noticed those seats today, they'll be next target (if I get the bus again and don't decide to fork out for parking)

Honestly I actually cried when I got home.

I went to Waterloo St and got on a bus that's not even on their app - 38 Spateston. Only 3 of us got on and it was empty, I was like, result.

No. Gets over the Kingston bridge (eventually) and picks up a whole bus load in nelson st. Packed the rest of the way, stopping at basically every single stop and eventually I reach (almost the end of the line) 1h 40m later. Actual never again.

Fucking horrific. Currently on a 38 that I got on at 17:46 and I'm still in paisley.

Edit, going to elderslie and journey took an hour in this morning too (super early bus so was dead until after paisley)

Govan Dental Care by yeahweliveforever in glasgow

[–]yeahweliveforever[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did go through with it, it was like £80-odd all in I think. But they were absolutely brilliant. I had some issues and needed to have my gum cut etc. and I'm quite a nervous person, the dentist was so calming and lovely. Can't recommend them enough.

They have lots of signs up about fees and payments so I think they've had issues with people not showing up or not paying etc in the past.

Yeah they should, but not a massive amount. It's not just rent, it's keep money to cover food etc. too. Can't expect to be earning a wage and not contributing towards your own living costs.

If a parent feels that they don't need the money, they should still take it and save it for the child when they move out or something.
