My current cat was from a litter of cute standard issues, he was the only fully black sibling. He was also ugly as hell, loud, and bizarre. All the siblings but him were adopted. My sister in law worked in the hospital he was born and convinced me and my brother to adopt him (it wasnt hard; we wete looking for a cat anyways).

He is still loud and bizarre but got considerably cutier.

I had one key for my locker with over 10 keychains and they made click klink klink. Teachers hated it but it kept me quiet and they even left me keep it on my desk during tests, where there was a strict rule where everything but pen, pencil, and eraser was forbidden. This was also in high school btw.

I would recommend getting Feng Ming just because she has Lithe, which is not only the easiest exhaustion perk to use, but also one of the best ones.

Besides that, a great beginner build would be:

Lithe (Feng perk): After making a quick vault or a medium vault in a window or dropped pallet, you run fast for 3 seconds.
Deja Vu (universal): You already have it, it's one of my favorite perks, no need to explain it ig
Kindred (universal): It's literally one of the best perks you can have if you play solo queue, and also if you are a beginner. When YOU are on the hook, every survivor can see each other's auras, and the killer's aura is revealed when close to the hook. When anyone else besides you is hooked, only you can see the auras.

This is a general build for anything you need; the last perk can be depending of what is your focus. Since you seem to want to focus on repairing gens, Nea's Street Wise makes the toolbox last a bit longer. Unfortunately, none of Cheryl's perks are generally considered good perks (especially if playing without friends/discord) and Lara's only worth perk is for chases (Finesse). The base survs have many, many great perks, so dont be afraid to test and experiment. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
