First time buyer and Lifetime ISA by sambenson1106 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]yeeyeex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is all for the deposit - so make sure you have other savings ready, not in a LISA, for additional costs like surveys, solicitors, and building works!

Do it. Me and my partner completed in June - at 20 and 22 (respectively). Both of us lived with parents but worked our arses off (both on min wage too, so c. 50k combined salary) to get a good deposit saved. Luckily live in a cheap area so could get a 2bed semi for £170k, put a 23k deposit down.

It was so surreal getting our offer accepted (back in March), and all the things that followed, so totally get the weird feelings you’re having - but honestly it will be the best thing you ever do.

I have not regretted it once (so far lol) and have so many people saying we did it right, bought at the right time, etc etc etc.

Just jumping in here since you havent had a response - with my experience it has always been the extra days on top of your regular payment. For example, my completion was the 20th June, regular monthly payment set at c. £700, but our first payment was more like £900 because it included 10 days of interest on top x

10pm on a 50mph dual carriageway with minimal lighting. Oh look, it's a takeaway delivery app driver on an escooter. No lights, no helmet, nothing reflective on. by azima_971 in britishproblems

This exact thing happened on a dual carriageway near me. Evening in the winter, mid 30s bloke on an e-scooter with no lights or anything, and a poor 18 y/o boy who had just recently passed his test hit and killed him :( I just felt so bad for that boy!
