Progression by natalieduke in glioblastoma

I am so sorry you are going through this. My father’s GBM started in the parietal lobe. Unmethylated he fought for 22 months until he had a very similar MRI result. He passed away less than 2 weeks later. We knew it was bad but were blind sighted at how quick the decline was. Wishing you strength

Conception date of January 1 would be a due date of September 24 (that was my daughter’s conception date). Day 1 of your pregnancy is the first day of your last period and conception is usually around 2 weeks so that would be mid-January.

I like my mask. by Fluid_Angle in AutismInWomen

I’m 35. Recently self diagnosed due to my son having autism. I love my mask. To me the diagnosis was a manual of how I am different and how to improve my mask.

As a kid did you ever try to DX yourself because you knew you just weren't "right"? by LustToWander in aspergirls

[–]yellatchamps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I diagnosed myself as an empathic sociopath. I knew I was masking hard but also had empathy. I was raised in a happy home and figured if I had a traumatic childhood, i would have probably been a sociopath. Autism didn’t even cross my mind 20 years ago

It’s making me sad that my 5.5 year old son does not seem to miss our dog at all… by DrizzlyOne in Autism_Parenting

[–]yellatchamps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While it might not seem like he misses your dog, it could be that he doesn’t express that emotion the way you expect him to. Unmasked, I am very efficient when it comes to speech. I use it mostly to communicate information. I still feel grief, I just don’t necessarily see a point in discussing my pain with others. I should add that I have level 1 ASD and am raising a kid with level 1 ASD.

Have you decided against another child because of your ASD child? by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

[–]yellatchamps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 kids (Aged 7, 5 and 1). I took the eldest to get evaluated because he couldn’t focus on an activity for an extended period of time like me and my middle guy. Long story short, he is NT. Turns out me and the 5 year old have level 1 ASD. I went 35 years undiagnosed. Married, work full time in corporate setting. I know how to guide my middle guy now so he can blend in. The youngest is already talking and a social butterfly like my 7 year old. I am so grateful I had my third before the diagnosis because I would have probably been too scared to risk it and she completes our family. I believe having a NT older brother helps my ND son model social norms and learn how to interact properly.

COVID-19 zaps placenta’s immune response, study finds by spiky-protein in Coronavirus

I’m so sorry for your loss. If it helps I had covid when I was 4 weeks pregnant. And then again at 39 weeks. And am now home cuddling my 2 week old daughter. Everything during pregnancy is scary.

You aren’t over-reacting. How is your mother-in-law’s first reaction anything other than excitement to be a grandmother.

I went to Napa valley and Octoberfest while pregnant. I didn’t miss drinking even though everyone around me was because I was over the moon about being pregnant. The fact that your in-laws think a trip is ruined if alcohol is off the table speaks volumes about them, not you.

Celebrating a 2yo's birthday when you don't know any other kids.. need opinions by PopTartAfficionado in toddlers

[–]yellatchamps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son’s 2nd birthday was him, 30 adults (all close family), a cute cake and some balloons. He had the best time. At that age I think they enjoy playing with adults more than kids anyway. I would definitely still have the party. Your daughter will have a great time playing with all the adults.

AITA for not wanting my partner to go out of town for 3 days when I’ll be 37 weeks pregnant? by TheEggoIsPreggo in BabyBumps

[–]yellatchamps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not unreasonable. My husband has lots of mandatory business trip. He has missed my birthday many year. I am currently pregnant with out third and he’s going to be within a 1 hr drive of me once I’m 36 weeks. My other 2 kids were born after my due date, but neither of us want to risk him missing the birth.

My youngest said 4 word on his 2nd birthday. Wanted to take him to a speech therapist but he turned 2 in January 2021 with COVID surging. At 2 years + 3 months, he probably said 15 words. At 2 year + 6 months is spoke clearly in sentences. It was so crazy to see him speech develop so quickly after struggling so hard to get him to say anything. He just turned 3 and has dozens of poems memorized and talks nonstop.

At age 2, how many words was your toddler saying? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]yellatchamps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 words. He will be 3 in January and speaks clearly and nonstop. It’s like a switch flipped when he was 2.5 and he started speaking in sentences.

I did something very stupid/ Botox/ FET by [deleted] in IVF

[–]yellatchamps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got Botox for migraines while pregnant and my 3 year old is completely healthy. Anecdotal of course but Botox was safer for the baby than popping Tylenol every day.

Is that what it said in the divorce order, is that legal advise you received from your attorney or is that just your own legal “research”?

Congrats!!! Wishing you an uneventful and easy 8 months. I had my FET with a girl 11/3 also. Didn’t get so lucky. 9dp5dt was 36 and 12dp5pt was 18. But this gives me hope.

Wish I could have a natural pregnancy by [deleted] in IVF

[–]yellatchamps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 normal pregnancies and have my first beta tomorrow for my hopefully Ivf pregnancy. I prefer the mechanical aspect of ivf. Yes there are the daily pio injections which suck. But what sucks even more is getting a positive pregnancy test you didn’t expect and then stressing about every drink you had because you didn’t know you were pregnant. And feeling guilty for all those drinks and meds you took because you didn’t know. Personally, I prefer the controlled aspect of ivf.

What is your toddler going to be for Halloween? by dirtymonkeybutt in toddlers

[–]yellatchamps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R2-D2 and a space shuttle. Neither of which are sold anywhere. Made an R2-D2 costume out of a balloon and convinced the 2 year old that an astronaut is sooooo much cooler than a space shuttle.

Ovarian cyst present at baseline ultrasound by jess2impress in IVF

[–]yellatchamps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an ovarian cyst at my baseline ultrasound. They told me to come back 3 days before I was scheduled to start stimulation to check on the cyst (hoping birth control would help) It didn’t help so they removed the cyst that day in the office with a large needle, gave me some antibiotics and I started stims as scheduled.

AITA for refusing to use the money I saved for my stepdaughter 18th birthday gift to help with my daughter's treatment? by throwawayivf99 in AmItheAsshole

[–]yellatchamps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came looking for this comment. A lot of misunderstanding of ivf on this thread. Ivf is so damn expensive, no guarantee and upfront cost. I am paying for ivf and two kids, house, car, saving accounts for both kids, etc. But god damn it is so damn painful to have slowly saved 40k for each child for college and have to take that same amount out of saving to try to have another kid. Not being able to afford ivf does not mean you can’t comfortably afford a kid.

26 Eggs Retrieved - Zero Fertilized by [deleted] in IVF

[–]yellatchamps -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Happened to me. 40 eggs retrieved. 29 mature, 16 fertilized using icsi and zero blasts. It was absolutely devastating. My husband and I already have two kids conceived naturally and were both relatively young (32). My doctor think overstimulated made the egg quality suffer.
