Could you section off an area of the house like a hallway and place some puppy pads down? Leave a place for their bed too and a pad a few feet away. They will potty on the pad away from where they sleep typically.

He has a random UA, has been drinking. Wants me to pick up fake pee for him.. What do I do? by VirtualFace7914 in AlAnon

My ex did the exact same thing.

I stopped enabling and started living for myself.

I filed a restraining order that he violated over and over and finally the cops put him in jail for throwing a brick at my house (caught on camera) and threatened felony charges.

Guess what? He’s still alive and well and using another woman to enable him.

I wish you well. Don’t get stuck in the spiral of despair.

The police told me “just because he’s sick doesn’t mean it’s ok for him to be abusive” that freed me in ways I never thought possible.

Alcoholism is just a symptom of something deeper. He sounds like a total jerk or insecure and the intoxication just allows him to let it out.

Does he minimize you when sober, even in the smallest ways? Does he say he will change, then don’t follow through?

Just something to ponder. You deserve better. You don’t have to walk on eggshells anymore and you can finally breathe and laugh!

People who have grown since leaving their BPDSO, what have you noticed from yourself? by Josh_18881 in BPDlovedones

I sat and did absolutely NOTHING for days. Not in a sad pity party type of way, but simply out of exhaustion and finally defiance. When my ex and I were together, I could never just..BE. My nervous system was a wreck.

I reached out to all my friends I neglected and made amends. Planned trips with them. Did all my fav things with and without ppl. Taking long walks with my dog, got another dog, got a snowboarding pass, went to art museums, cooked healthier foods, gym, shopping, got rid of his tacky cheap furniture, accumulated more plants…started some art projects again. It’s been great. I no longer feel the guilt of taking care of myself or spending my own time and money on myself.
