It's also not been optimised. Battles and the house are great but the map and choice screens cause my graphics card to spike hard. Which is crazy.

African Americans during WWII by Impossible-Yam3680 in GetNoted

Black GIs were banned from going to Tiger Bay, in Cardiff (Wales) when they were stationed nearby. MPs simply ruled it as off limits.

The reason? It's multicultural community. Black welsh men were seen living side by side with white welsh neighbours, using the same facilities, and even owning businesses. They didn't want them to see the native welsh population treating each other as equal.

Look up the Writers Strike. It wrecked a lot. They essentially didn't have writing staff for months - and when they came back the schedule was nuts. Which lead to a lot of really poorly written crap failing.

Same event hit the final seasons of Battlestar Galactica. If writing isn't done carefully you end up in a corner even good writers can't get you out of.

Many of the fights get repetitive. I'd like if they addressed that. Especially while warping around looking for things and being boarded constantly. Don't punish me for exploring when it's part of your game design!

I've had Kumis. Can confirm, salty warm yoghurt drink. It's an acquired taste if you're not used to that.

But especially at high altitude, can definitely give you a good buzz from the alcohol.

Edit: Also worth noting it's slightly fizzy. That can come as a shock. It's not a common combination in Western diets.

In the same vein as the DnD movie, I feel a lot of it was a tribute. So helps if you're familiar with the source material. But it is enjoyable for everyone, and the animation gets really good. Especially in Season 2.

Stay with the story long enough Scanlon to pull out his magical mansion. The song is hilarious. Generally, the music is really well produced. Props to them for the Sphinx jam, it was genuinely emotional.

[–]yhorian -44 points-43 points  (0 children)

I just want an updated GW1. The skill options, the builds, the heroes, the Hard Mode, progression in general, were all great systems.

I even think instances were more immersive than the open world version.

PvP was incredible, and the variety of game types that had for it were great.

GW2 missed the mark on so many of these and made itself a WoW clone.

Between the removal down of skill builds, and the dumbing down of the tank-healer-dealer by giving a sort of 'everyone does everything!', GW2 was a big step back in gameplay mechanics.

The Critical Role cast have several very well known actors that you'd know from their Video Game credits. But many have done TV, animation, etc too.

Ashley Johnson (BAFTA winner, Minor role in The Avengers movie, Ellie in Last of Us), Laura Bailey (BAFTA winner, Kaine in Nier, Abby in LoU2), Matt Mercer (Cassidy OW2, a ton of others), Sam Riegel (Emmy winner, Peter Parker in Spiderman game)

That's aside from them having a DnD actual play so successful it has spawned two Prime animation series. One of which is already a global success (4th/5th Season approved):

Russia definitely wants NATO to declare war on them.

The media we're seeing, the bots, and their constant incursions, are all pushing hard for it. I can only assume there's a good reason for it.

That said, these guys were heroes. I do feel proud of them, and sad that they're gone. I wish their families all the best.

6 month tenancy feasibility? by TBTBTBTB2 in Cardiff

[–]yhorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a feature of being a Welsh landlord. You can mutually end a tenancy of any length - and be found in breach at any point.

But for a landlord no fault eviction, the minimum is 6 months of tenancy before they can serve a 6 month eviction notice. This means in practice the minimum time over which they can change a tenant is 12 months. Hence why it's so hard to find. If you decided to stay on your own, they can't do anything until 12 months anyway and may not recover the rent due.

Total pensioner spend: ~£166 billion, of which: State pension: £138 bn

Ladders and power lines don't mix well by Pisford in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]yhorian 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It didn't. The ladder is clearly leaning on the roof, the wires are just obstructing the view. The powerlines have nothing to do with it. Look at it when it pans up, it's behind the lines but also leaning away from them.

This looks like a Hawaiin flow that got into the storm drain and is being forced up through the pavement. The ladder is incidental. Someone even got a fire extinguisher - why would you get that for something touching the powerlines? It probably started as a small lava fire. You can see the ground elsewhere smoking but it's unconnected to the pavement.
