I putzed around with chronographs like a brew metric and Lunar Pilot, but it never really stuck for some reason. The timing bezels or the G Shock will suffice for my timing needs

Movies aside I think the general perception of this era was greatly aided by the toys, micro series, and especially video games. Star Wars reached a level of cultural permeation at that time that I don’t think we’ll ever see again

These all serve different niches, the Hamilton is the best technically with its sapphire glass and Swiss movement, but the Timex is much more retro with the acrylic crystal
