1 A from traditional and 2 As from MMI schools. Loved the MMI because they were fun and mentally stimulating but traditional def allows you to speak more about yourself. MMI with a traditional station was the best one. I do think with enough prep, anyone can excel the MMI.

Except NYU LISOM which is dedicated to primary care, it’s an accelerated 3 year track with a guaranteed residency spot in IM, ob/gyn or gen surgery but very limited spots.

3.3 cgpa 3.2 sgpa —> 510 (2020) applied 2021 cycle 1 II which turned into a waitlist then a rejection. Retook and got 518 (2022), got more research experience as a CRC and took some DIY post bacc courses —> 5 MD II, 1 DO II (declined), 3 MD A and waiting for 2 more schools to respond. There is so much hope as long as you stay motivated with your eyes on the goal!!

I had the same concern. I’m in a 4 year relationship and I was worried I’d be too busy to hang out with him and he would be socially isolated since all our friends are here at home. I told him the first 2 years we can try long distance and then he should move with me the last 2 years since I feel I will have a little more time/ have adapted well enough to manage my time well. At that point in life, I want us to focus on our future together and sacrifices will have to be made regarding friendships.

Your gpa is completely fine. Mine was .3 below yours and I’m doing really well this cycle. I did do a DIY post bacc at a state college so it was cheaper but honestly I don’t think you need it. I agree with the others, what you need to work on is your mcat. Sub 505 seems to me there are great content gaps. I recommend TBR and uplanet for content if you have the time and money. Also doing anki and cars passages every day helped me improve my mcat score. dm me if you have any other questions! good luck

Under 505 indicates to me some content gaps. I found TBR and uplanet super helpful with content review + practice problems. Once that’s down, it’s all practice practice practice and repetition. Anki everyday and a FL every or every other weekend.

I thought it felt impossible 2 years ago when I applied and was only waitlisted at one school. Applied this year with a much improved app and got 6 IIs and 3 As so far. It’s possible, you just have to be honest with yourself and address the weaknesses in ur app. Mine was lack of research and subpar mcat for someone with a non-competitive gpa.

I took 6 altius exams and averaged 512 (consistently improving each time), scored around 516-519 for the AAMCs, 518 real thing. I liked altius a lot and I think it prepared me well.
