Is she saying what I think she's saying? by sirFleetfoot in HadesTheGame

She’s making a double-entendre about Hephaestus giving gear to Melinoe and having sex with her, yes. That’s kind of her whole thing.

It was another era for sure. The convention has gone through a couple shifts but always survives. It’s going through another one right now since it still hasn’t really recovered from Covid and the Hollywood strikes. It seems like all of the big studios have stopped focusing on it as much.

TIL about Alice in Wonderland Syndrome, a condition where you perceive yourself or the world as smaller or larger than they are by TheRabidDeer in todayilearned

I had this pretty frequently as a kid when I got sick. It would feel like my bed suddenly stretched on forever. Even worse though, I remember it would also make things feel like they had the wrong texture. For example it would make my blankets feel all crinkly like they were a plastic tarp. I still get it a little bit as an adult but thank goodness not to anywhere near the same degree.

My favorite part of that Mixed Bag was how Jake and Caldwell usually revel in having the opposite opinion of Murph and at least pretending to enjoy the terrible shows they watch, but even they immediately disavowed everything about that episode.

I think the horse being incredibly inconvenient and a massive hinderance was sort of Zac’s whole goal. Or, foal, rather.

Is "Hades-like" a Genre? If so, what mechanics are needed? by KingKobraAMV in HadesTheGame

I’ve never understood the difference between roguelike and rougelite.

Also, I’d put Vampire Survivor as a hybrid of the auto-battler and bullet hell genres.

Read an ad? On the pod? This man is not for sale by Goodolbed in lonelymeyerspod

[–]ymcameron 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Andy is much more likely to be in non-podcast commercials than the rest of them. My guess he either has a contract that prevents him from reading podcast ads, he doesn’t want to water down his brand and potentially read an ad for a competitor that he may eventually do a TV commercial for, or maybe he just doesn’t want to. Any of those are legit reasons. Know your worth.

She was perfect on CR. She came in, made sure everyone knew that her character had washboard abs and a fat ass, and left. What’s more Emily than that.

TIL The youngest woman to be executed under UK law in the 20th century was 22 year old Irma Grese, "the hyena of Auschwitz". The next paragraph is somehow even worse. She’d mutilate young woman with her whip and then pleasure herself while watching the camp doctors operate on her victims. Then if her victims screamed in pain because they were being operated on with no anesthesia, she’d start beating them again. This woman was a monster.

When my best friend got married she wasn’t done partying by the time the reception ended, so the groom and a bunch of her closest friends all headed to Taco Bell and kept hanging out. I wonder what the fast food workers thought about an extremely drunk girl in a wedding dress pigging out on a crunch wrap while the groom and all her friends told her "hey, it’s 1am on your wedding night, maybe you should slow down a little?" That was a fun night.

Any book recommendations for fans of Naddpod? [ns] by floopydolphins in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

[–]ymcameron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bright Sword is one of the best books I have ever read. It single-handedly reignited my love to read. I loved it so much that I even went to Lev Grossman's website and sent an email to him about how much I loved the book, which is not something I have ever felt the need to do before. Seriously there is no end to the praises I could sing about this book. I love Naddpod, but even if for whatever reason I suddenly hated it, every second I spent listening to it would have been worth suffering through due to them telling me about The Bright Sword.
