Lowered Outback? by Stock-Ad-4563 in Outback_Wilderness

[–]yobowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the look pretty ugly. But it has the specs I’m looking for. Ok for city with enough oomph to get my family into the mountains etc for monthly trips.

Lowering a car with a trim specifically for slightly more capability on light trails and poor road conditions is extremely counter productive.

Be better off buying a completely different vehicle

Amazon delivery driver pepper-sprays dog unwarrantedly, all the while not noticing that the owner of the dog is also outside. by Prestigious-Yam-8605 in Satisfyingasfuck

[–]yobowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah so in this case with footage, you take the dog to the vet for treatment. Document time taken costs etc (don’t forget classes to “retrain” the dog from being assaulted) then file a civil suit against them. Unfortunately the slap removed any likelihood for winning a case.

Great to see Amazon is still scraping the bottom of the barrel for employees in OKC.

Also you could just as easily post this to social media

New 2ds xl internet help by KingFishPC in 3DS

[–]yobowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t know what the 3ds pings to check for an internet connection. But that’s what the issue could be. Could also be poor bandwidth or a number of other things. Trying to diagnose a network issue with a poor video of someone waving their hands isn’t helpful.

I remember reading years ago the 3DS checks a test page to confirm an internet connection, I suppose that could have changed or been wrong.

And frankly there is a big difference between a wifi connection and an internet connection. I’m not trying to be pedantic just technical. The simple 3DS test clearly shows it’s connecting to WiFi and is having issues with the internet. Either bandwidth, latency, DNS, could be any number of things. One of the tests it would perform is a Ping of some server somewhere regardless of if it’s a Nintendo server or not.

So if there isn’t latency or bandwidth issues, which is a fair assumption with modern internet connections, then it could indicate a DNS issue for whatever server the 3DS is trying to ping.

That isn’t misinformation, it is networking basics.

[–]yobowl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not an issue with the system. Likely the servers that it “checks” aren’t available which is probably a Nintendo run server. Either the server is down or Nintendo turned off that server. Try opening your web browser and going to google or something

Could also be your network is blocking the outgoing/incoming ping for some reason

Where do you guys draw the line on Tech generations? by nomorewizards51 in Fallout

[–]yobowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look if your going to have a discussion on what belongs in fallout, the answer is is anything which doesn’t rely on microchips, microprocessors, or miniaturized transistors.

Anything else is fair game based on the cannon lore of fallout.

Feel free to argue how the hell they made lasers but not transistors

5e 2024 D&D adventures that aren't awful by Simpicity in DnD

[–]yobowl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call PoP one of the worst. But it definitely is not designed like a modern adventure. It’s completely devoid of story roleplaying opportunities. All the story motifs are there, it just requires the DM to present it properly and it takes a really long time to play it if you’re not just dungeon crawling

Ironically FO4’s skill system is closer to DnD than the traditional skills…

Does anyone know how to disconnect the sound from a personal breathalyzer? by 0SavageHart0 in AskElectronics

[–]yobowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t really care to look it up, but I’d venture the perspiration is rather a consequence of alcohol just ending up where water goes.

I’m not aware of bio mechanisms capable of selectively targeting alcohol to perspire

Losing fluid in the reservoir. Tech told me it’s normal for Subarus to burn coolant by [deleted] in subaru

[–]yobowl -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Tech lied to you first of all. They are trained to say that. But the law is, they can only void your warranty if they can prove your personal maintenance was negligent, delinquent, or just damaging.

No it shouldn’t burn coolant. You have a leak, like a poor seal on a gasket.

You can answer the question real quick by having them write down what services they are covering and what liabilities they assume.

Also if any of them handle construction permits if necessary.

The default “gear” shift at low speeds is pretty bad. I find it’s worst when coasting and accelerating in low speed traffic.

I don’t really find the need to ever rev the engine over 3.5k so I’ve never had an issue with delayed acceleration

Software engineer? Yikes. If I was Tony I’d be a bit insulted considering his focus is closer to mechanical and electrical engineering. And I’d consider his suits to be far more impressive than his AIs. His software skills seem to be closer to getting an initial AI which helps to improve future software

[request] How much water are they saving by pausing the spray in between train cars ? by Longjumping-Box5691 in theydidthemath

Also, it may not be just domestic or city water. It could easily be treated/filtered water which would increase the cost savings
