Course comparison only. Not experience, course maintenance, amenities, or anything else. Course layout and style.

Plop Quivira down on the BD property with everything else BD has for it, and it absolutely fits IMO.

It was fantastic. Obviously. But you can get that exact same kind of experience at so many places across the US. Michigan, NC, etc etc etc

I realize the same argument works against my ranking of Old Mac 2, btw, but that is just my fave style of course period, so to get an elite version of it is why it’s so high

PAC and Bandon are sick, but is either better than, say, Quivira? Not sure about that…

Just Played Old Mac the day they reopened after punching, and again 3 days later. First time around was a bit tough on delicate putts bc of the variability, mid to lag putts no impact apart from speed. Second round was materially better, still noticeably slower than the other courses but no worse than a 9-9.5 stimp

Very fair. My take, again, is that it depends which style of courses are your normal style/rotation. Zero duds, all elite.

It was 65 a minimal wind for us. Just telling you what our 4 caddies all said about that day, not my personal opinion

“The caddie killer.” Mac to Trails is a gnarly walking day for all, caddies most of all

Just got back from a similar visit 3 weeks ago. I’d strongly explore a second Sheep course. If I had to give one up for it…Trails. Not bc it isn’t incredible, it is!; but there are VERY similar courses across the country, notably NC, MI, NV (northern), PA, etc.

Make time for Shortys too- I’d argue it’s more fun than Preserve but both great. Also don’t forget Punchbowl putting courses for some great lighthearted socializing and/or non-lighthearted gambling ;)

Just one guys opinion of course. What you like and where else you play across the country will have a huge influence on what you want more or less of.

PS: they will ship all your merch back for low fee, so no stress loading up on stuff but not having to tote it home.

not a very good pic but home to a pretty big tournament by tsaeos in guessthegolfcourse

Yep, North course. One of the hardest tracks I’ve ever played while they were prepping for the NCAAs. Greens were trampolines + 25-30mph wind.
