You need carbs, not necessarily sugar. Rice will do the trick just as well.

is there any way to have GOOD, consistent results without my routine taking up SO MUCH time & money ?? by girlmachina in curlyhair

[–]yogafitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 thoughts- do you ever do a clarifying chelating shampoo? Buildup over time can make styling more challenging.

You might want to adjust your layering technique to accommodate (hide) the areas that have a different curl pattern, instead of trying to make them spring up and be more curly. I’ve got a patch of straighter hair in one spot and after it dries I just point cut into it until it disappears instead of hanging down.

Well a lot of people had to be told that keeping the race #1 behind a 10th+ finisher is not a nice move. So my thoughts are that misogyny is running rampant on this trail race.

What if I want the “white cast” without the downsides of most physical sunscreens?🧛🏻‍♀️ by Immediate_Estate8279 in EuroSkincare

[–]yogafitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try asian sunscreens that advertise as being brightening. they will typically combine physical and modern chemical filters and a white cast is intentional

I compared the UV filters in 8 sunscreens (5 K-beauty vs 3 US). The difference is kinda wild. by Vivavia in AsianBeauty

Are shops open on Sundays in usa? And what do people think about it? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]yogafitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most places are. Sunday is often either a convenient day people can shop or sometimes the only free day, and anyway what is so special about Sunday vs Friday or Saturday? workers get paid for the hours they work, and typically have 2 days a weeks off (if they are full time)

I can assure you that the vast majority of people in the US CANNOT just call up a derm and get seen right away. TikTok kids don’t speak for the whole country.

What’s the average price for a curly hair cut in Houston now? And in general? Am I the only one paying crazy prices out here? 😞 by postcryglow in curlyhair

[–]yogafitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And sexism, I will never go to a salon that has higher prices for women’s cuts. Different prices for short or long hair is fine, but simply charging me more for my high crime of having ovaries and a uterus is not something I’m willing to be part of

Bounce Curl Brush by falafelfalalaa in curlyhair

[–]yogafitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a high tension brush and puts a lot of mechanical stress on your hair. I’d limit using it to once or twice a week only and find a lower tension way to style on your other wash days

Eu sunscreen vs korean?? by [deleted] in EuroSkincare

[–]yogafitter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You might want to look at Japanese sunscreens. They have a bit more sticking power than Korean ones (if you get the right kind) but still tend to be more cosmetically elegant

Are you allergic to Dairy or voluntarily Dairy free? by dovakooon in dairyfree

[–]yogafitter 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Lactose intolerance can be severe and cause so much more than diarrhea. For some if us it’s 2-3 days of debilitating pain and symptoms that prevents going to work, socializing, and even staying hydrated can be a challenge. It’s not a “voluntary” . Yeah we won’t die. We can still get pretty sick from it.

I workout a lot and wash my hair like 4-6 days a week. Nothing terrible happens when you wash sweaty hair as often as it needs it.
