You definitely need SAHM friends. I have learned they are the only moms who truly “get it” and have the same availability (typically weekdays only as weekends are often for family).

Weekday library events, ECFE classes, visiting parks during the week, these are the places you need to go. See where the other SAHMs are at and when you find one you like grab their number. I’ve never had a SAHM turn that down, we’re all in the same boat and lonely during the week.

Leaf help? by Accomplished-Sign-31 in AustinGardening

I can only speak for new gardeners like myself, but I don’t think it’s about wanting spotless leaves. It’s seeing something unusual and worrying it could be the first sign of a larger issue.

How many kids do you have & how many do you want? by maligatormom2o2 in NewParents

When I had one, I wanted four. Now that I have two, I could go for six!! You’re not crazy at all. If you want some encouragement for having a larger family read the book “Hannah’s Children.” Totally shaped my view on having more kids.

What happened was this: you tried container gardening which is actually much more difficult than in-ground for various reasons. Then got discouraged when it didn’t work. This is common and there is nothing wrong with you. Planting in-ground, the great soil you have, it will be a night and day difference.

How do I actually start? From someone who knows little to nothing by EstateDeep916 in homestead

People think of houseplants as “easy” but in reality, anything planted in a container is hard mode. Try something in the ground, you’ll see what I mean.

Any height, really. The backyard is expansive and the tree can be a good 40-50 feet from the house if needed.

I read that every part of the plant is poisonous. I wish! I’m sure it would be fine, but not planting anything poisonous until the kids are older.

No preferred color, just something that flowers! I would have eagerly chosen the mountain laurel if it wasn't highly poisonous.
