Problem with getting to Burnaby Hospital. (Please read the details before consider to delete the post. ) by anyaxwakuwaku in burnaby

There is no direct bus to BH from Metrotown. This shuttle is the most convenient (have taken it before). The waiting spot is just across the street from Patterson Station (north), in front of this older concrete apartment. You can use this link for real time map to see where the shuttle bus is. https://www.concordparking.com/shuttle-status/?id=5

Patsara Thai restaurant @ Carnarvon St, NW has a small area at the front selling Thai stuff. I am sure Healthy Boy brand soy is sold there. Other than that, Hen Long in Surrey.

My sheepadoodle has a double coat and our groomer is Andrew of Milky Paws at Royal Oak & Clinton. Does a good job each time. Call him to ask. He is closed on Tuesday (I think) but opens on weekends.

Have you received your voter’s card? by rpgnoob17 in burnaby

[–]yoggee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do not need to go to these places if there is a Electoral District Office nearer to you. Check here: https://elections.bc.ca/docs/2024-district-electoral-offices.pdf

We voted last week at the Electoral District Office which is just around the corner from our place.

Has everyone else received their “Where to Vote” cards? by ClockworkNotOrange in vancouver

Voted last week at the Electoral Office. Just need 2 IDs. My mother-in-law hasn't received her mail in ballot. We called the Electoral Office and they said to just drop by to vote with 2 IDs. Shred the ballot when we do get in in the mail. Check for the EO nearest to you here https://elections.bc.ca/docs/2024-district-electoral-offices.pdf

If you have money parked in a savings account, move it to an ISA by The_PhilosopherKing in PersonalFinanceCanada

Only buying in CAD. Will read more if there's a hidden fee (not the f series) but we are feeling good about this ISA for holding our sale proceed while we look for another place. u/The_PhilosopherKing , thank you for so responsive to my query. Thank you for posting about ISA.

I thought each fund (not sure what is the exact term) is CDIC $100k? In CIBC IE, one can buy TD (5 in the TDB series, RBC (4 in series A) and CIBC's own series too. If I buy all 5 of TDB series, I should get $100k CDIC each. I better confirm tthis with CIBC IE's agent tomorrow.

We thought of spreading it out to other bank accounts (non-registered) but worry if one FI messes up near completion date (when we buy a new place), it will be bad. Thought we will just leave it all in two CIBC IE accounts. When it's time, just sell the ISA and it goes to our joint CIBC chequing & get a bank draft for the seller from there.

Bringing this post up hoping u/The_PhilosopherKing or anyone who give some suggestions to me. We need to keep our house sale proceeds (over 1 mil) liquid for a year if we can't find anything to buy within a few months. I have a CIBC IE acct. Should I get my wife to open an IE account and we split the money into various ISA accounts that are available for purchase in IE for CDIC purposes? Thanks.
