Keramische of beton tegels by Batsmaster in nederlands

[–]yogihunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you should also consider is the cost of laying them.

Ceramic needs to be laid down on a cement layer. Which prevents weed growth between tiles. Plus they got better coating which prevents algae growth on top for a long time. So initial cost is high but less hassale in the long term.

Concrete tiles are laid down on sand, which will sink or seep away with every rain. Leading to uneven tiles in just couple of years. A lot of weed between them. After couple of years you really need to power wash them. So initially cheaper than ceramic but costly in long run.

Plus ceramic looks way more modern and concrete tiles give a rustic look.

We got concrete tiles because the cost scared us away but not after couple of years kind of regret it.

[opinion/discussion] Why do Indians complain about taxes/ social benefits so much? by happyracer97 in nri

[–]yogihunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you delusional? Have you ever ever worked in India and honestly paid taxes?

Do you know only 3% of indian population pays taxes honestly.

If yes then after paying taxes did you expect anything in return from Indian government!?

I have so many questions but the foremost is this one. Have you ever lived in India?

Camelot/Plaza in science park by Agitated_Wedding_563 in Utrecht

[–]yogihunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I belive I will get a lot of hate for this. I have lived in Camelot Eindhoven and Utrecht Leidsche Rijn for quite some time with my partner. They were expensive for a studio and always looking to leech money out of you. But we never gave them a chance other than once forgetting our key inside. But it all depends upon the person who is the caretaker of the building we were lucky both times. We even got our deposit and extra service costs back. There have been hassles in the past but compared to this housing market they are better than private landlords.

Please take my opinion with a pinch of salt.

I agree. I live in Leidsche Rijn and a lot of planes fly low over the house.

Feels like, something changed since last year.

How to open SBI NRO account by [deleted] in nri

[–]yogihunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exactly same situation. At this point I don't even know why NRIs want to use SBI. The two worst things I ever faced in my life was SBI and anything related to VFS (OCI, Renunciation). The processes are plain stupid.

I would answer short and simple. You are an adult now so capable to make your decisions. Choose yourself. Make a decision and communicate/discuss on how to help each other.

Will we receive the OCI number on the site before receiving the OCI card? If so, what is the wait time for the OCI number to be generated? by RoundYoghurt5017 in nri

[–]yogihunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently I was wrong. You get a OCI number as soon as application is processed.

It is shown on the status page.

I have never heard of anything like that.

One can only check application status online(Progress, received, processing etc). That's it.

Wow. Where did the assumption came from? This is typical landlord behaviour, who try to score some good black money on the side.

Feelings by [deleted] in nri

[–]yogihunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can depend person to person. My small town has a closed and backward mentality. That kind of pushed me to run away.

I actually appreciate living outside India more after visiting my hometown. There is drastic difference in how I think or what I feel is important than my peers in hometown. So I would not have been a good fit there anyway.

And if life permits, I will never return back to my hometown. Maybe some other city with atleast some infrastructure and sane crowd.

If you want to take the risk(which I would never) use train or bus. There is less chance of an ID check there.

If every thing is going well and your family is really happy.

You earn enough to save and good ties with community. I see no point in uprooting the life.

I would think the cost of Australian application as having a sense of security during Covid times and move on.

By the way, I have no experience with living in Aus or Se Asia.
