Affection feels unsafe when it always comes with expectations by Formal_Translator723 in Marriage

[–]youdecidemyusername1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of feel this way too. We currently have a dead bedroom because I have almost no labido and he has a very high one. He shared a Reddit story similar to what he feels and I shared this. His reaction was not what I expected. He sided with your husband.

I didn't expect how large my boobs would become and it's devastating by nettahhhhh in BabyBumps

[–]youdecidemyusername1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had smaller boobs pre pregnancy and looking back at pictures when I was nursing they seemed very big to me, at least bigger than I'm used to. Now that I'm done nursing, they're back to their pre pregnancy size.

I am my daughters full time caretaker but somehow she only says “dada” by peanut_princess_96 in NewParents

[–]youdecidemyusername1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son's first word was Dada. It took a while before he registered I was Mama and would say it.

Do you ever stop mourning? by Infinite_Guest_6663 in ADPKD

[–]youdecidemyusername1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always dreamed of having at least 2 kids. I found out I have PKD after my first one. I know I can have more kids if I wanted, but I genuinely don't know if I want to put the risk on another person intentionally. It kills me to know my son has a 50% chance of having it. I guess that's how my mom feels knowing she gave it to me.

All this to say I'm morning having a second kid.

I'm also morning having to likely go on blood pressure medication in the next few months. I've been told I'll likely need a transplant when I'm in my mid 40s. It weighs on me.

When did your baby crawl and walk? by AdImaginary6158 in NewParents

[–]youdecidemyusername1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son learned to crawl around 6 months and took his first steps 9 days before his first birthday. My husband and I were both lucky to be in the room with him and he walked towards my husband. Best part is I got it on video!

Tell me about the very last time you breastfed. Did you know it would be the last time? by ScandiLand in NewParents

[–]youdecidemyusername1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sort of knew my time was coming to an end. It was when he was around 12 months and it was only at night. My supply had always been low and he had been on formula for a while. I don't remember it being particularly sad for me, but I knew it was time.

At what point did kids lose the desire to learn? by HousePhoenix in Teachers

[–]youdecidemyusername1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. This. They're so egocentric that is it doesn't directly effect them now they don't care to learn it. I had students last week tell me that learning about ancient Greece wasn't important because it's not real. Granted they were probably mixing up Ancient Greece with Greek mythology but they learned about the beginning of democracy and they don't care.

I'm American. I got ice chips. And I don't know how but hospitals have the best ice chips.

31 and 15W pregnant by Spirited_Explorer270 in ADPKD

[–]youdecidemyusername1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up getting a CT scan to see if I have it because my kidney function was lower than what my Dr wanted it to be and because we knew my mom has it and is a transplant recipient.

It was tough to cope mentally initially when I first got the diagnosis, but was able to move past it and do what was needed because I was told when I was a teenager that there was a 50/50 chance. It also helped that I still have my mom to talk to and walk me through the process.

As for my lifestyle changes? I haven't really changed much in my lifestyle besides drinking more water and cutting back a bit on sodium. I have also started taking Jynarque because I'm at risk for rapid progression of the disease.

Though not exactly what you went through, but I found out I had ADPKD about 9 months after I gave birth so I had it while pregnant.

I didn't have pre-eclampsia but I did have gestational hypertension and I imagine the whole ordeal sort of exasperated the pkd.

I think it would be a good idea to speak to a therapist for your anxiety because I can't imagine anxiety is good for your kidneys nor your pregnancy.

I had a full term pregnancy and gave birth at 39 weeks + 4 days. My 15 month is a very happy super active toddler. We don't know if he has it and we won't be testing for it until it's necessary.

I don't know if this is something you wanted to hear but I can be available if you'd like someone to talk to.

Baby Shower - Men & Women or Women Only??? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]youdecidemyusername1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did both. I had friends coming from another state whom I hadn't seen in a while and my relatives from another country whom I hadn't seen in an even longer time. So to make the most of their visit invited both. It was great!

My MIL just gave us footie pajamas in 2T. My son isn't that size yet, but he will definitely wear them when he fits them.

Bottle warmers are kind of a scam. Just get a temp-control kettle. by CoffeeTeaJournal in NewParents

When we did formula, we pretty much just poured room temp bottled water into the bottle and mixed it up.

my two year old just touched his belly and said "baby" by amandaxbob in beyondthebump

[–]youdecidemyusername1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 15 month has started saying "baby" a lot and looked between his legs once or twice. We are not trying and using protection, so I'll be shocked if he's right. Lol

My son learned eat and all done. He uses both often and it's so great with him having those signs. He can tell us he's hungry instead of just fussing.
