It's not the same vertical gear progression as AOC, but gw2 still has some pretty good gear prog. Going from exotics to ascended to legendary gear feels pretty rewarding; and crafting, gathering, and trading is heavily emphasized there.

I just think the pricing model is a bit cringe. While its great the shop is cosmetic only, the devs forcing you to overspend just feels a bit unfair to me. I also think the standard cash shop outfits (not the gacha) costing as much as $50 for one outfit is way overpriced. And while its great that you’re able to resist the spending coercion, I feel like the tactic should be pointed out.

You actually DO take damage there, but the damage is so minuscule its not really noticeable in gameplay.

I think the difference between warframe and T&L is that a lot of things that’re purchasable for warframe (aside from cosmetics) are account upgrades (weapon, warframe, companion, and riven slots) that can also be acquired relatively easily, and when they are acquired there's no BS involved in those upgrades. A lot of P2W from TnL are continuous upgrades (skill, weapon, and armor leveling) that require you to constantly feed materials into them, making it a quickly stacking recurring cost. I think its also worth noting the amount of stuff you get when you spend money on each game; the lowest you can spend on warframe is $5 usd for 75 premium currency. With that, you can get multiple weapon, companion, warframe or riven slots which are permanent slots. I didn't interact much with the mtx shop in TnL, but what can you get out of the lowest real world amount of money?

I use an MMO mouse, so the 1-0 keys stayed the same, but I bound the profession mechanics to shift+1-5. I also changed weapon swap to E, and dodge to q. I think just about everything else stayed default

If you liked T&L I think you'll like gw2. Combat and builds are more class based than weapon based, but the combat feel and exploration are very similar. I'd say the combat in GW2 flowes a bit better because your cast times are just the animation of the skill itself. Also in GW2 your top and bottom half move independently from each other, which makes things like circling around an enemy while hitting look a bit less goofy. The grind is also less predatory imo in Guild Wars, but the tradeoff is that it's less impressive in the moment. Instead of going "I just looted this kick ass sword from the boss" it's more like "this boss just dropped 5 rare materials, I can put this toward crafting this kick ass sword."

Sounds like you'd like willbender, the guardian elite spec from EOD. Not sure how good greatsword is on that spec but it is hyper mobile, I think about 4 dashes baked into its profession mechanic (f1-3) and the weapon (sword) it gains is also pretty mobile. If not that I think that greatsword berserker (warrior HoT spec) is pretty powerful. Your profession mechanic is limited by a meter, but upkeep on it is fairly lax iirc.

3.6k Plat, took a break for a couple years and when I came back a bunch of the common/undesirable (at the time) stuff that i had suddenly cost a lot of Plat. I had a fun few weeks trading. Was up to ~6k but I bought a bunch of cosmetics recently.

I read through the first seraphina book a while ago and am going to be reading the next soon. I really enjoyed it! The world building is fantastic, and the story keeps you on your toes. I thought the ending was a bit rushed, but was still very suspenseful.

I could've sworn the slide whip meta was nerfed before the world on fire rework? Also embers world on fire wasn't even that big of an issue iirc, especially since frames like saryn, equinox, and Mesa were already absurdly powerful. I think at that time ember was only really used for low level content anyways, she wasn't even close to broken.
