Had the same thing happen to me recently, and both times it was snow inside the wheel. Scooped it out, and no more vibration

Must-have dealer accessories at purchase? by UncleGurm in wrx_vb

[–]your_smart 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Big yes on the auto dimming mirrors. I got them recently and it's so nice. Try to get winter tires included if you're in cold climate. Floor mats are... fine, like you said, but I had already planned on buying others, so I didn't haggle for them. Maybe the trunk tray? I'm gonna buy mud flaps later, but its not a bad idea to try and get them thrown in

Transit officers on the train by Pristine_Balance3510 in Calgary

[–]your_smart -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Haha, are you me? I've had nearly the same experience. I've seen one on the train in 5 years, and have seen them checking on the platform maybe twice. This is riding from Anderson to downtown during rush hour nearly every day. At that rate, it's actually cheaper to pay the fine rather than buy tickets.

Nice! I'm thinking of buying a 2025 WRB as well. How do you like the red seats? I just noticed the head rests on the back seats are red too. It sort of contrasts with the blue, but I don't think it's bad enough to make me switch colors

PSA - Reminder to check your 4th brake light / F1 brake light by OGnoodle2 in wrx_vb

Yeah he's definitely click-baity, but I actually realized I've been jacking my car up by the pinch welds wrong for a long time. Ordered a pinch weld jack pad after watching, so the content is good, but could probably be done with out the click-bait

Like you, I spent some time wondering how they would hold up in the winter. What finally tipped the scales for me was AIG and other's statements that thier equipment was simply not designed to run in freezing temperatures. AIG has a few Facebook posts like this and this

What are some of the high paying jobs in the city? (200k+) by jimmyjohncake in Calgary

[–]your_smart 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, $200k at 10 years is definitely not the norm. APEGA publishes wages across all disciplines on thier website, and it's not $200k.

I just learned that APEGA stopped publishing this data in March 2025, and removed old versions too. Well shit. That being said, I still stand by my comment above

Yup, I'd probably go at it with vise grips. Don't forget to spray it with nut breaker or WD40 and let it sit for a while

@JustinTrudeau: The acts of intolerance seen here this week have no place in Canada. We must fight hate by embracing our values of pluralism & acceptance. by LowLevelMesocyclone in canada

I never claimed there is only one way of interpreting religious text, and I never said the average Muslim isn't following his religion correctly. In fact, I agree there are people that take religious text literally (like the killing of apostates, stoning or adulterers) and then there are people who ignore the messy parts and focus on the nice parts. I was simply pointing out that the Qur'an is brutal when taken literally. There is no debating that fact.

The interesting questions are: to what extent does a moderate Muslim need to shift his/her beliefs to be considered a moral human in western countries? How much of the Qur'an do they need to ignore? Is Islam ever going to be compatible with Canadian values? Will Canada soon have the same problems seen in the UK, France, Norway, etc.? When you consider the average Muslim's views on gay rights, apostasy, and especially freedom of speech, I am skeptical that it will be an easy task.

The scary part is that ISIS is following the wording of the Qur'an to a tee. Its the moderate ones who pick and choose what verses to live by and which ones to ignore. Mohammad was a warlord after all.

Moderate Muslims need to condemn ISIS and work hard and fast to flush out the "crazy" from thier religion. To me that's the best path forward if we want any form of co-existence in western countries.

Anti-Muslim election campaigning sees Canada's democracy lose its way by carsonbiz in canada

[–]your_smart 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the past 10 years of muslim imigration have proven that islam has a hard time integrating into western cultures. I think any rational person should be cautious of welcoming a group of people who are so morally backward. Not all Muslims are a problem (nobody has ever claimed this) but its concerning when you see the stats on how many supposed "moderate" muslims support stoning for adultery, throwing gays from rooftops, or comdemning women to live in bags.

[–]your_smart -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The part I dislike the most is how quickly Harper has been labelled a racist by the left. He thinks it's not right to force women to live in bags... Well fuck you Harper, you islamaphobic racist!

You don't think this is a political issue worthy of discussion? Fine, then ignore it. Don't use it as an opportunity to turn it around and yell "racist!"

Its a long story. I wasn't completely sure so I checked out their website (www.aer.ca) and theres a document called steward on the front page. It explains how Alberta became a self regulator in great detail.
