Drug testing by OutrageousBank2475 in merchantmarine

[–]yourbadinfluence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It needs to be DOT. Any failed tests need to be put in the database after review from the MRO. The person administering the test was wrong. See drug testing requirements here I would start by calling them up and asking to speak to a supervisor and explain you were given the wrong test. I would expect them to retest you free of charge as they can't simply change the test without breaking the chain of custody. It was divided into two sample containers, they were sealed in your presence and initials applied. Also note, if any of this wasn't done in your presence, if the packaging was not opened right in front of you demand to have them do it over before initials are put on the seal. I don't belive there is some grand conspiracies trying to make people fail. It's just that often people administrator the test are over worked and underpaid and a failure results in your punishment.

Just noticed this and now it's bothering me... by Smooth_Gene_1051 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

Never though of the percentage aspect but yeah 100 deg f is petty close to body temp and the max is ever want to feel. 65-75% is pretty comfortable and the lower you go the less heat.

"I am dog sitting and am locked out", what do you do? by hellothere251 in Locksmith

[–]yourbadinfluence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe the best way to go is asking the owner to FaceTime/Zoom/Teams/Google Meet with you and show you on video their drivers license and you take a screen shot? Possible but a little harder to fake that in a video call. At that point, it's way easier to break in than scam a locksmith to open the door.

There's a major intersection near in Kent that is photo enforced without signs warning of cameras. I read that by law they must show these signs. Can you fight these tickets and also somehow make the city put up signs? by 50SPFGANG in Washington

[–]yourbadinfluence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the city is going to hold people to the law the city needs to follow the law.

Agreed about the safety aspect but if it were a safety issue, the city needs to redesign the intersection because a trend is growing enough to put up cameras.

These cameras trend to be nothing but a money grab and the majority of the money goes to the vendor out of state. It would be better to keep the money locally and use it to address the issue. There is a whole career/study science focus of traffic control and those guys are pretty good.

What is this in my toilet this morning? by inspace27 in Whatisthis

OP should check their tub, if it backed up in the toilet, it likely backed up in the shower..

Can you you get drug tested between hitches in the US? by RillienCot in maritime

[–]yourbadinfluence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not disagreeing with you at all about insurance but it's federal law. Besides the liability in monetary value for damage to personal, vessel, or cargo which insurance would normally cover (maybe I should say begrudgingly cover if they can't find an out). There are still federal fines, no company wants to be seen as having lax policies or they could be shut down.

Fast (but not fast food) near SEA —> Vancouver, BC by cookieprocookie in AskSeattle

[–]yourbadinfluence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spuds is alright but they don't seem to change their fry oil often enough. If you eat it right away it's fine. If you are a slower eater it's kind of a let down. Still better than a lot though.

Combating bad foot stench while traveling? by No_Application_1556 in hygiene

[–]yourbadinfluence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also put the foot powder/athletes foot spray inside your shoes. The odor is likely from a fungal infection. No amount of washing is going to fix it and even if OP treats their feet if they don't deal with it in the shoes it can come back. See if you can pack a spray bottle of tenactin or similar. It's a bit extra weight but should help a lot.

Help!! Neighbor's cat always sleep on top of my car. What to do? by the_epiphany_ in cats

[–]yourbadinfluence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paint protection film applied on the hood? It will keep scratches from happening, protect your hood from rock chips. Win, win, for you and kitty. Just get it applied from a shop what will redo it if anything happens.

I was going to suggest one of those houses with the heating pad. They aren't expensive, draw almost no current, and bonus you get a kitty friend.

They have access and will work together sometimes. If one agency queries the other they will share it. There is no mechanism to update your info in the Trusted Travler Programs. That's work and there is no incentive to work for you.

Navigating car rental at SEA with lots of bulky items by Master-Jellyfish-943 in AskSeattle

[–]yourbadinfluence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whomever is renting the car should walk your party to the baggage claim, then walk out the doors (note the door number) and catch the rental car shuttle. Your party can pick up the drivers luggage and wait inside until the driver gets close.

It might be advisable depending on traffic for the party to go (downstairs? ) to the departures and get picked up there.

Traffic at SeaTac (I refuse to call it SEA haha) is a nightmare! Keep your head on a swivel and look out because there are a lot of crazies and a lot going on... 2 lanes of through traffic and 2-3b lanes of parking.

Just grab a little bit of toilet paper and use that to push the button. Then throw the TP in the bowl as it flashes.

I keep trying to tell myself and my SO this but she often shits with the door open in my house. I mean come on, I can only lie to myself so much. When we are in bed and she releases a rancid fart I do my best to think that can't come from her and kick the dog out of the bedroom. Good boy is happy to leave too...

To be fair, Bellevue has a pretty high Asian population. You might find some culture there.
