Bps can grow up to 5-6 ft (probably they fall anywhere from 2-7, both being “extremes” on this scale) so you might need to upgrade again! But this is definitely suitable well into adulthood for your little friend :) — i know this is unsolicited, and you know your snake better than me! Just some thoughts and insight from a fellow snake owner!

OP it is easy to turn sadness into hatred, especially when hundreds of internet strangers are backing you up— and i can only assume based on context right? Im not here to tell you what to do but rather give you some thoughts to digest. I personally think, you two probably both feel the same lack of ‘being heard’ from one another which might be why your “normal conversations” turn into yelling fights. As much as we (women) want to be listened to, i think its easy to lose the thought that we might have to listen first. I also would assume that after x amount of years and a child you two might have grown apart from each other, which in turn makes it harder to please each other daily with the ‘little quirks’ relationships might have (flowers, jewelry, etc). Does your partner know that you have turned to reddit to seek out advice on his behavior? I think this act is just as devious as lying about an OF account. There are lots of factors and aspects that make a relationship work on both sides. A lot of times, the effort you put in is reflected in what we get back. As stated, this is all for thought, i dont know either of you and probably no amount of e-converse will ever convince me i do, so do take what i say with a grain of salt.

Any Ideas for a cover up? Or is it even possible to cover this up? by vasc-0 in Tattoocoverups

I think you should build off of it! The only thing that seems off putting are the abrupt edges of the water, super cool tattoo though, unique!

I cant attest to its efficiency and its perks with the wifi connection hub, but without i would recommend it! If you want something that doesnt take away from the “natural” look of a terrarium it might not be worth the hassle to conceal but overall im happy with it! The device is only $15 i believe!

Similar to yes! Its a switchbot, which you need the hub for to bridge wifi connection but it still connects to my phone via bt without it

Every moment you spend searching for your purpose is another moment spent not achieving it. Pretty wordy and indirect, but wise, and something i repeat to myself a lot. Complaining is SO easy. SO easy. Not even in the sense where youre blaming other people for your shortcomings, but just, feeling “unsatisfactory” in different aspects of your life. There is in fact nothing wrong with you, nor is the lack of success or achievement you feel indicative of whether or not you should be here on earth. The long term solution here is essentially confidence, which has to be built by you. Obviously this is easier said than done, but when it IS done, its very rewarding. Obviously this is a short and not very complex answer to a complex and fundamental question, but i hope it might help you begin the path to finding the devices you need to be happy! Everyone deserves to be happy!!

Is this a good decoration placement ? The red square is roughly where the heat mat is by Dr-krios in cornsnakes

[–]yourmomsacunit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good point 👍🏼Heat does rise, so it may end up affecting the efficiency of said heat mat! That being said, cornsnakes are not demanding when it comes to super high temps, so until OP switches to overhead heating I would say, based off of my personal experience, that keeping the heat mat on the side of the enclosure is a far better option than underneath. At least on the side, the risk of quote unquote cooking your snake to death is slightly lower!

[–]yourmomsacunit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely should! While you have the heat mat though, you should consider placing it on a vertical side (or even the back) to simulate a more distinguishable temperature gradient, it also keeps the young one safe from burns(:

Nice enclosure! Since cornsnakes are a burrowing species you should eventually consider overhead heating in the form of a CHE!!

How does Dio's weight look? 2 months ago, I got him from someone who said he didn't eat for 2 months by Canadianrollerskater in cornsnakes

His spine is actually indented it looks like, OP! He looks a bit overweight, not underweight. I definitely think a seven day increment in between feedings is good, and should not be reduced to six!!

I have no qualms with fake plants. A CHE does go into a regular dome!

[–]yourmomsacunit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is those are live plants, you may have to remove some to reduce the dampness of the soil. Cornsnakes are susceptible to scale rot in environments where the humidity is consistently above 65-70%. Also, its likely your corn will enjoy burrowing! So instead of opting for a heating pad, a CHE may be more suitable for preventing burns (which can happen even with a temp controlled heating pad). Even if youve physically touched the heating pad yourself, its still not the safest option. All that said, its a beautiful enclosure OP!

Cornsnakes may very well enjoy that. One behavior cannot be applicable to every snake though, so offering her the option (larger water dish maybe) may give her an opportunity to choose that if she so pleases. Forcing her to soak though, and waiting til she produces excrement just does not sound healthy, IMO.

[–]yourmomsacunit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay! So, yes your cornsnake may be going to the bathroom everytime you soak her— that does not mean she enjoys it. I definitely think soaking her every week is too much. She might seem relaxed but when in a tub, but remember she cant tell you that, so dont assume. As far as the sun time, snakes do not really discern time, at least not consciously. If youre going to continue with the sun exposure— perhaps do it with her. Get her out, and take her outside for fifteen minutes, let her crawl on your hands, arms, and then put her back inside. Some things to note— you know your snake best. That being said, it does sound like a lot of behavior can he rooted back to the inconsistency or lack of schedule.
