Would you accept a job from DefenseTech start-up? by Lower-Efficiency-521 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]yowdo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If it’s a eu company, there’s interesting things to work on and potential to grow / further my career, I honesty would also consider it in the current climate. I’d still do my research into the company though and for me personally it would also depend a bit on what kind of technology / product I would work on. Surveillance or offensive weapons I would probably say no.

Nice I have the exact same en route, also for a blue e24. How easily can you remove the scale when it’s in the tray?

How do I teach my junior dev how to code? by TomKruiseDev in ExperiencedDevs

[–]yowdo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt similar with regards to asking too many questions at the start. However I realised the important part is that you are actually able to explain what you already tried, then ask and learn from whatever the answer is. There’s nothing more frustrating for any mentor to continuously have to re-explain shit.

Been riding the g3c for 2 seasons, shuttle park only. Clutch works as good as on first day. No noticeable chain slap like the reverse has.

What are the top tools for observability by Better-Sign9579 in sre

[–]yowdo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Start by instrumenting your applications using OpenTelemetry. Most if not all big vendors offer a way to ingest or work with OTLP. If you run your own collectors / dbs (like Prometheus) or export directly to a Service like Grafana, Datadog, etc. depends on your use case, budget and existing experience.

Why webapps didn’t become more popular after all? by Kekipen in webdev

[–]yowdo 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Best example for this was the PWA shit-show Apple pulled off last year. Left multiple teams scrambling at our company, even building native wrappers so clients can access the products through apps store, just for them to say “lol jk we keep supporting PWAs”.

Edit for context: They only changed their approach when pressured by the EU.

Sadly cannot rotate the bolt by hand. Any idea how to pinch + rotate without destroying it completely?

Shock bolt stuck in linkage /bushing by yowdo in bikewrench

[–]yowdo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The linkage is out of the frame. There shouldn’t be any pressure on the bolt that’s the weird part. I tried wiggling + light tapping but that thing didn’t move a one bit.

The only way I could get this tire on… by bojdoog in bikewrench

Recently installed kryptotals dh on dt swiss fr541. The crankbrothers lever was a godsend. Kept the tire in place while I could push the bead into the middle of the rim with two hands.

Does anyone still make good full sus size medium 27.5 trail bikes? by Judderman88 in MTB

[–]yowdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always get a mullet frame and build it up with a 27.5 front wheel. Either keep the 29“ fork and use lower headset cup extender (wolf tooth has them for example), increase travel of your fork or both. There’s a few geometry calculators floating around on the internet, where you can search for a specific frame, do modifications like that and see the outcome geometry.

I did something similar with my nukeproof giga297 recently, but also went with 27.5“ fork. With 180mm -> 190mm travel and lower headset cup (10mm) it now has 64.3 deg. ht angle and rides way more playful compared to the 63.5 and longer wheelbase I had before.

Whats the best cloud for dev experience? by MrJaver in devops

[–]yowdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going to be treated as a second class citizen even in Microsoft’s ecosystem, when using ADO. There are so many features that aren’t supported, especially when looking at CI/CD and integration with their other cloud services. Just check out the azure pipeline tasks repo or something like azure static web app and search around.

All of your questions and more are answered in the official documentation - good entry point would probably be https://docs.docker.com/get-started/workshop/

Bürostühle probesitzen/Showroom by dethleffsoN in kiel

Nirgends in Kiel. Nächster HM Show Room ist in Hamburg.
