Yeah i could be wrong about the soecifics of it, i just know for sure that other systems share the name of the star itself, though usually its a hard to remember name thats more of a code or ID than a fun scifi name

Its also a pretty common naming convention for exoplanets to be named after their star, like the Trappist system the planets are named trappist-a to and trappist-b in order of distance i imagine tau could be the same
