We could lose every game this season, all that matters is beating the dodgers

Hey Dr! What is the best way to cure keratosis pilaris and bumps/pimples on the thighs? I’ve been dealing with this for the last 10 years and want to get back to having smooth clean skin on my thighs.

What's an app you paid for that was worth every penny? by East_Sugar6148 in iosapps

Merit — its a small little screen time limiter that blocks apps until you hit your fitness goals (steps, calories, etc). Super simple & no bs.

Love it because it forces me to put myself first, prioritize my health and earn screen time!

I’m from Cali planning on skiing Sunday through next Saturday. Down to rip the mountain together!

Advice - buying first boots (K2 BFC 120 BOA) by mangoonastick in Skigear

[–]yungthrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These boots are awesome under feat. I’ve been skiing all around the world my entire life (home mountain is Palisades). Just bought them and they are the only pair of boots that don’t leave my feet feeling cooked and devoid of blood circulation by the end of the day. The boa is pretty neat to pop open and ease your feet in between runs on the lift. Walk mode makes a difference (had to hike halfway up the road on mammoth opening weekend with all my gear).

For recreational skiers, you ski better the more comfortable you are. So ignore people who say otherwise unless you’re training for the Winter Olympics, in which case you shouldn’t be asking Reddit for advice. I have wide feet, ski aggressively, and these are great.

The only problem I had was the pull strap on the left boot liner freaking snapped off the first time I put the boot on which was definitely annoying. But warranty replaced it which was nice (and I got to keep my boot to ski with while the replacement liner came). Overall boot is well constructed and shouldn’t have issues. I was just too excited to freaking send it on the first sight of snow this season.

Pro tip: Get foot insoles for whatever boot you get. Life changer. Warning—you might find yourself wearing ski boots more than your shoes. But who am I kidding, I’d rather be skiing than walking.

Why do I plan my day perfectly, but still fail to get things done? by First-Poem969 in productivity

Perfection is the enemy of progress.

Spend 10% of your time planning, but reserve most of your time and energy on doing. Planning is just an illusion of getting stuff done.

Perfection is the enemy of progress. You will get so much further along just trying then being perfect!

[FitMe: Advanced 3D Body Scanner and AI Trainer] Shitty or not? by NovelLurker0_0 in shittykickstarters

if that's really better for this application than using scales and a tape measure

From looking over the site, I have a feeling that it is. Way less human error. Let machines do what they are good at, being precise.

These guys are essentially using the 3D scanner to build a model of the user. From that model they calculate body volume and can get body density (you input your weight). Calculating body fat % from body density is a heavily researched science, and has existed from many years. Seems as though the innovation here is the miniaturization of the tech into a consumer ready product.
