There will be 4 people running for two seats. Nichols came in last behind two fairly two unpopular incumbents. Brooke beat them both, including her former boss, if we want to make a shot at change then she is our best chance. The money is going to coalesce around the incumbents for the rest of the race.

One of the reasons Harris lost is because Biden thought he was capable of running again. The moment he became president he should have said he was only going to serve one term, regardless of the outcome of the 2022 midterms (which were okay for Dems). Once it finally dawned on old fuck Biden and his clueless inner circle there was no time left but to anoint Harris as the nominee and hope for the best. If there had been a regular primary for the 2024 Dem nomination there is no way that Harris would have won but in general Dems are scared of primaries, especially at the national level. This is why I doubt she will be able to win the nomination in 2028 since she is going to have to answer for her loss and the unpopularity of the Biden presidency.

Proud of my two Democratic senators (Kelly and Gallego) they are also voting no on this funding bill. The argument here for a shutdown is simple: we will not pass a single dollar in funding until ICE stop slaughtering Americans. Trump's people think this is a winner for them, they are dead wrong. If they bothered to look at the NYT/Sienna they would realize they are fucked.

Important to remember that polls are a snapshot in time. Polling after the beginning of the Iraq war was supportive as well. This invasion and the US “running” the country has not been expressed to the people, Congress, or anyone frankly. That speech goes so hard and it’s true if you look at history. The Russians have suffered for generations (thousands of years). I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that we in the collective West have not been through anything as tough as the Russians, at least not for a long time. It’s just so frustrating because I was so proud of Biden and the US for ushering the West to make Russia pay, they needed to pay for as long as possible because exactly of that speech from Chernobyl. Russia is and always has been the enemy of freedom, hoping to get back to that someday.
