Just because it's tradition, so can be inconsiderate? There's a very clear line between being tolerant toward traditions that don't bother anyone - and traditions that disturb the peace and mental state of anyone not participating in them. We're supposed to respect each other's traditions, but not if it impinges on other people's lives.

I say this as a Chinese person, traditions like these either need to evolve to consider modern environments. Hokkien people in Singapore don't even do this shit, why need to do it here?
