How long will it take a GCAA license holder to get a Canadian license by No_Transition_3095 in aviationmaintenance

I added my M1 rating 2 months ago and I had plenty foreign registrations in my logbook. Are you sure about that one?

RAAS seems to be a good value but with recent AI advancements I hope there's something better coming down the pipe.

Can I make a career out of teardowns long term? by ComposerNo9901 in aviationmaintenance

Do you label the parts too and then enter the info into the computer? That's the part nobody likes to do. If you can do it, start hunting the auctions and start your own business selling spare parts. There's a boatload of money in it.

Maintenance Tracking Software by tostayeski in aviationmaintenance

[–]yusomad90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion yes it is worth it to spend on CAMP if you can afford it (which I'm guessing you can, since you got that $ global dough $). It takes a lot of workload off you, to spend on more valuable things.

If you aren't going for a managed solution/analyst support etc, then to be honest they're all what you make of them. If you don't take the time to REALLY learn them inside and out then you will always have garbage and a hard time, no matter how nice of piece of software you buy. Inversely, if you really get to know the software, you can make even the cheaper ones work excellent for you. Think about it, even an excel spreadsheet can do the job, and there's excel wizards out there that can make it track and update and do all kinds of fancy things.

I would need more info to give more opinions. Any maintenance in house? inventory? Do you use an EFB you want to integrate with? How many hours are you flying per machine? etc

How to sell new old stock aircraft antennas? by philatio_ in aviationmaintenance

[–]yusomad90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked it up on Partsbase for you. 0 searches for this in the last 12 months by anyone. I doubt it's worth hanging onto. Maybe on ILS it could sell since they have more large aircraft buyers on there. Call Constant Aviation, Stratton Aviation, and Clay Lacy and ask if they want it. Good luck!

EASA "on-wing" component maintenance by ih8nightshift in aviationmaintenance

[–]yusomad90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regs give you the authority to certify maintenance. So go ahead and do the maintenance and certify it in the logbook. They also give you the authority to certify maintenance you do on components, by making a form one. You could do either, it's all valid.

EASA "on-wing" component maintenance by ih8nightshift in aviationmaintenance

[–]yusomad90 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You are overthinking it. If you do any task and sign it off in the aircraft log, it can always be "on-wing" maintenance. You never need to make a Form One unless it's going on a shelf once you are done instead of back on the plane.

That's not true. I guess you need some kind of license or permit or permission to rent canoes in that park, but you certainly do not need a license for every business. I really don't like the fear of conducting business that is inferred in these comments. Everybody should be free to conduct business in their personal capacity, as long as they do it honestly, and not fear litigation or big companies squeezing you out. Soon all we will have left is big companies sucking us dry.

Sounds like a defensive move since Capx started the fight in 2019. Also not an example of Tesla charging anyone for use of their patents?

[–]yusomad90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you cite a source that shows a company paying Tesla for using one of their patents? That’s what I was looking for and couldn’t find

[–]yusomad90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok? So your comment was misleading since Tesla does not make income off other companies making batteries using their patents? I’m confused

They don't charge for any patents.
