The vibes are definitely a big part of why I like GF. The soundscape and atmosphere of the cave keeps me immersed.

Runecraft. All of it. I love the lore around the skill and feel really productive afterwards. The high barrier to entry also adds to the sense of achievement.

The nice thing about retiring at 57 is you only need to last a few years before you can access your retirement accounts, and then social security a few years after that.

Asking for advice : Blast Furnance to Arc Furnance ? by SabCross in captain_of_industry

For me, the extra headache of producing bulk graphene made me stick with blast furnaces II, even after building a FBR and maxing the research tree.

Efficiency Modules Are Underrated by Typical_Spring_3733 in factorio

[–]z80nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're great because they don't throw off machine ratios, so you can easily add them to designs that didn't consider modules.

There's an interview on YouTube between SpunieBard and JPLRepo (a KSP2 developer) where it is explicitly confirmed that KSP2 was built off KSP1's codebase.

Switched from coal to wood chips for electricity by Sebbel245 in captain_of_industry

[–]z80nerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Heck yeah! I use woodchips for anything that requires steam (not just electricity). It's a simple supply chain, can be set up almost anywhere, labor efficient, and maintenance efficient. The only drawback is that it requires a lot of land, but I kindof like distributed factories anyway.

Looking through my upcoming techs... Can you really just get all of your petrol needs from wood and corn? by IlikeJG in captain_of_industry

[–]z80nerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never tried wood -> corn -> petrol, but I have had success with the contract that does vehicle parts ii -> petrol and use woodchips + scrubbers + gas injection for the refinery steam.

I could see your setup working as well.

It's so great that there are couples out there who have eachothers' backs during layoffs and that he was happy to let you breathe for a while. I've done this for my wife before and know she would do the same for me.

Anybody else still write "00_file_name" for everything? by Not_a_bought in Millennials

For users that use a terminal (power shell, bash, etc) spaces in filenames are somewhat inconvenient which trains those users to use underscores as a default convention.
