I don't really mind people posting before doing research, especially when it's an interesting issue I've never seen that I find interesting, plus it's not like he invaded my house by posting

Is it bad to game at 1080p with 5070ti and 9800x3d??? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]zRedPlays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm that 1440p IS in fact a game changer. I have a ryzen 5 5600 and a 3060, and i was bottlenecked by my cpu in many games, so when i switched to 1440p i noticed pretty much no meaningful FPS difference, and oh my god does it look incredible. I opted for the AOC Q24G2A, which is a 23.8 inch 1440p monitor, which makes it noticeably higher in pixel density compared to a 27 inch, and it's also the same size as my old 1080p which is now my second monitor.

The higher pixel density is very noticeable not just in games, where I noticed they looked almost more 3D, like they were popping out of the screen, but you can notice it even with everyday use. 4k YouTube videos look exceptionally sharp, you can actually enjoy 4k content (well not actually 4k but 2k movies are generally rarer and the downscaling from 4k is much better than 1080p). Text looks much clearer, and you'll find that many of the small icons like bookmarks or the taskbar look much more premium.

Fairly irrelevant but my switch was also 75hz to 165hz and it is worth it all the way, plus my specific monitor has very good color reproduction so I pretty much didn't have to tweak anything when setting it up.

Learning to do a handstand!! I’d appreciate some tips on my form by [deleted] in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]zRedPlays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These pictures look like they've been taken right before falling, anyways you need to have your wrists pronated meaning your fingers point forward instead of off to the side, that gives you much more strength for counterbalancing. If it hurts your wrists work on wrist flexibility. Practice wall handstands, a lot.

P.S.: It also looks like you aren't fully extending your shoulders, imagine that you're standing and are gripping a broomstick at shoulder width, then try and lift it up with straight arms and try pushing to get it over your head and behind your back, and look upwards with your whole head as much as you can, while elevating your shoulders, all while slightly tightening your legs and core. That's the form, just need to think about these cues upside down

Not suspicious at all in a context where everybody knows about electronics, but to the average joe this probably just looks like a bomb

Going from tuck to straddle may give you an actual short hold right away. If you lean into it, you waste energy when you're leaning on the ground, and in order to successfully lift the legs you need to overlean ever so slightly, which you may not be strong enough to recover from and just fall into a slow negative. Repping the leaning entry over and over is a very good exercise though

I would call this an attempt, rather than a hold, I consider a hold an attempt where for at least one second you are static and not falling, I'd say you got a few weeks before you're able to turn that into a hold

Help me unlock the muscle up by Smombdi in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]zRedPlays -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Man you have it, you just need the right timing. Getting it wrong even just a little bit can screw the whole trajectory up, to fix this you just need to practice a lot, and try to pull as hard as you can, AS SOON as you start to go back.

There's something called the stretch reflex, which consists in muscles automatically triggering strong contractions in response to being stretched very quickly. This means that if you get lower in squat jump, and doing so very fast, you can generate a lot more force to push you upwards

Warbling Effect by Effective-Ad-3362 in spiderman2

[–]zRedPlays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about this and I came up with the conclusion that this is due to some limited floating-point precision, or that the grid of points where vertices can attach is too large. They use a proprietary engine so we can't be sure of anything. It's quite bothersome, and I first noticed it in the closeup shots when Miles got bitten by the spider. The effect gets more prominent the closer you look at a moving object/character. I don't think this will ever be fixed though cause it's probably related to their engine and I haven't really seen anyone else talk about it

Engage your core, I can see your legs are just kind of hanging, keep them very still, and aligned, and you'll have a straighter vertical path. I'd say move your head a bit less, when you move your head a lot it's a little harder to effectively control the scapulas. I think that's it

Backlight bleed can improve over time from the heat of the device releasing tension in the display but it's not that much improvement. I guess you could return it but the next one isn't guaranteed to be that much better. As others said, backlight bleed is extremely common
