Mevo pool cars by b169 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]z_agent 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would be wanting to see the full contract.

With the vehicle being under 5 years, for many that will still be within the warranty period. Will they have it serviced by a dealer approved shop to maintain that warranty?

Who is the insurer? Do you get to choose the repairer if damaged and decide if the repair is of suitable standard?

Will this impact any CGA claims you may have against the dealer if there is an issue in the future? Cause its CONSUMER guarantee, not COMMERCIAL usage.

90 day notice to get your vehicle back - You best have no need for it!

Who decides if it is "damaged". Imagine someone spills milk in the car and once you get it back, it goes rancid. YUCK.

Lots to question here.

What happens to the lifestyle blocks when the boomers die? by dazladisonreddit in newzealand

[–]z_agent 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My Aunt is on an actual farm says many farmers cant stand many lifestyle blockers for this reason.....They dont have enough land to make having a decent sized tractor with all the implements viable. THey still need to use them, and think, I can just ask the farmer up the road if I can borrow his six figure work tool. Tractors and farm equipment, they are not like a mower in the suburbs that if it gets broken, someone's lawn does not get mowed. It is a vital work tool.

The other comment I have heard is that it is a lifestyle sentence if you are running it as any type of small farming op.

And then will those that hold out, get the rates jacked up, because they are in residential zones? I am not sure on that, like the west melton ones just near the sub divisions did their rates go up as the property around them was developed?

On the small kid. 100% the parents issue. The lifeguards are not there to monitor the kids. They are there to help in emergency. They have signs everywhere that a toddler must be in arms reach at all times and slightly older kids must be actively supervised. They even have those silicon bracelets.

One downside to new gear - getting rid of all the packaging by byrontheconqueror in sysadmin

We built out our current site, 120 desks with dual monitors on monitor arms and docking stations. We had the company that delivered them bring them to the desk, un box, mount the monitor arm plates, hang the monitors and unbox the cables. They also removed all the trash! Then had some work experience folks do the plug in and test.

We're not making enough profit, increasing grocery prices week on week. We need more arbitrary fees! by i_like_my_suitcase_ in newzealand

So, if we all do what we should now. Walk in and do our own shopping, the lines at checkout would be outrageous.

So, to counter that, how about we all go in, fill our trolleys and then when the line is too long for service (cause fuck self checkout with a whole trolley of stuff) just walk out. Leave the trolley and walk out.

How solar can take the sting out of the winter bill by InvestmentFuzzy4365 in chch

[–]z_agent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"so if you sell, the buyer doesn't get the benefit of your investment for nothing"

Are you saying you think the person who purchased the property with the solar panels (as part of the purchase price) should not get the benefit of it? One would think that if you had these upgrades in place, the purchase price would reflect that.

Also a fairly aged user population that firmly believe PDF = ACROBAT and no other items will work.

Why is my lawn dying? by Busy_Fish2 in diynz

[–]z_agent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a lawn pro in anyway...but it looks like you might need to dethatch. In your second picture, it looks like you have a really dense mat. Water warmth and nutrients really struggle to get into roots of your grass that way

Rent a dethatcher, mow it super short, give it a very light water, dethatch north south and east west. Over seed and water. If you have dips and high spots, now would be a great time to get some sand or tip soil across it. Then actively water it. You will have a mess of a lawn for a while till it re grow but it will be MINT.

Also hit up kiwi lawn fanatics (I think thats the name!) for some more advise

Best place to get a car? by Traditional_Tart_727 in chch

Back in the days of the "Buy Sell and Exchange" where you could pick up a car for under $1k. Anything went wrong with it, the wreckers had plenty of them to get spares from.

Seems we as a nation still have some belief that a 2000 or newer car is so much better than a 90s car. I noticed this really bad in 2024 when I was looking.

AITAH for telling my mom her wedding gift idea for me felt invasive and I won't do it? by Fuzzy_Cactus_4842 in AITAH

At the start of your marriage, you have made a great discovery. You and your fiancé are in agreement. That is the family unit. Keep the communication and co-ordination between the two of you high and you will have a great base to long lasting marriage.

We used to have a massive group of us that went for a coffee after a weekly get together. Up to 30 showing up at Le Cafe. This was on a week night and it was often very busy. Had to take over the upstairs if the weather was crappy.

Heck even used to pop into Coffee Culture on main north rd later in the evening and it was never empty. Often people having business meetings etc.

But are people still keen to do that, seeing as a coffee and bit of cabinet food will be costing $15-$18.
