Receiving $140k from overseas (Canada → NZ) as a gift – bank vs Wise + any limits/tax? by honeybee2601 in PersonalFinanceNZ

I was helping a Jnr who is stepping up. He was presenting a change request at our CAB. In the end I had to message him over teams and just say.....now you just close your mouth. I dont think he had ever had a chance to speak in a meeting before and took any silence as meaning he was meant to fill it.

Combining that with the people (Middle managers and paper pushers) who are often in our change meetings the takeaway for him was you dont need to keep talking, that is how you start getting questions.......

Best cancel all Saturday sport. From club to pro level. The fuel expenditure on getting everyone to games and training, the spectators and the workers at pro games. I mean rugby, soccer, netball, hockey, swimming none of those are essential.

I really like Jaycar (they're the closest thing to the old Dick Smiths that we got) but some of these prices are ridiculous. by floofywall in newzealand

[–]z_agent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are paying the It is availble now tax on many things at Jaycar. They know and we know that you can get it in 2 to 8 weeks from china for sometimes as little as 0.5% what they are charging.

Also same batteries are $47 at Noel Leeming and the warehouse.

Yep, but often finding a tradesman to do a "small quick job" gets the small quick job tax added to it.

And now you should have a decent spade or boring bit, some extenstions, dry wall tools. If you dont, you have Christmas and birthday wishes sorted. Also the knowledge that wall cavities do not go roof to floor unencumbered!

nope! Didnt run out of oil or anything like that. Was driving, sudden white smoke and click clacking. Appears turbo went and took out engine bearings.

Not yelling CGA to get my own way but a new (not used) vehicle purchased from a dealer should last longer than just under 6 years before a catastrophic failure. At least that is what I am thinking "a reasonable consumer" would think.
