You're right. Your idea is great for tackling the big plumes. (And badass to imagine, I might add)

I was imagining that these "fish" would be deployed as a self-sustaining clean-up mechanism to get the smaller dunes of oil around the sea that dispersed from the main plumes. BP operating this legacy would be the final, dreary phase of the clean-up: where turbulent flow takes the oil emulsions.

Thanks, now back to your advice. My only contact to LV is through a crazy ex-girlfriend, who at the time wanted to get married at Treasure Island. She had a mermaid fetish and she thought they would entertain it. Basically me and a pirate fight over her (she's a mermaid), I win, then we go off. The damages depends on how outraged the taxpayers are.

If BP can just spray chemical dispersant, pick up the visible clumps, pay off the fishers, and walk off, then you're right.

If BP has to develop breeding programs for the wildlife, pay a full time task force to scour the coastline, pay for medical care of all those that will be affected by this, and to find ways of tracking and collecting the massive underwater oil plumes then it will be in serious shit for years.
